Hi,

I'm a PR based in Montreal and I sent my citizenship application in March 2020. I received the following notification on September 15, 2021 through my IRCC profile:

You have been scheduled to take the citizenship test online. Read the invitation you will receive carefully. You need to take your online citizenship test between September 24, 2021 and October 14, 2021.

Then I scroll down under the application history timeline and it says that information and instructions will be sent to me. I noticed on the top right corner of my profile that it was last updated by IRCC on September 14, 2021.

I'm worried because I'm supposed to take the exam between September 24 and October 14 but today is September 20 and I have not received the invitation yet... I already checked my inbox, including the spam and trash categories but nothing. I tried using @cic.gc.ca in the search engine. I confirmed that I have the right mailing address in my profile and I also checked my home mailbox but I found nothing. I contacted IRCC through the web form to confirm if they sent the invitation or see if they can re-send it but I received a note saying that they are prioritizing only requests linked to Afghanistan due to the current crisis.

Is this a normal situation? Are others experiencing similar issues with the timing between the moment you receive the notification to take the test and the moment you actually receive the invitation?

Any thoughts would be helpful!
Jorge

You'll receive an email 1 or 2 days before the test window start date. This is the norm.

You dont need and wait for test invite as link is open to all. All we need is the widow period in which we need to take test.
So just focus on preparing rather than worrying about the email. Email comes closer but it is not required for online tests, it was meant for inperson tests as you need to show the invite to enter exam hall but here its online hence you dont actually use the invite to attend test.
Access the online test: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...canadian-citizen/citizenship-test/access.html
