I am a Canadian, sponsoring my wife from Korea for PR. We are expecting to get her PR status in roughly 1 year (according to the Manilla office wait times). However, we are thinking that we would like to live in Korea for about 1 year starting next May after I finish University. Is there a time limit associated with the PR "offer" (is it an offer?)? If our estimations are correct, we would be living outside of Canada for about 1 year after getting PR acceptance. Otherwise we could possibly wait until she gets PR, comes here, then we leave together? Does she have to make some formal initial entry, or does she officially have PR status once she gets her passport back in the mail in Korea?

Thanks!
Jeff

She has to make a formal initial entry. She won't have PR status until she makes this entry. She will also be given a deadline by which that first formal entry must be made.
