I'm American living currently under Temp residency in Vancouver B.C. with my wife(Canadian Citizen). Was just going to submit it based on the guides mailing address.

Will you be applying via Inland or Outland? Depending on which way you file there are different time estimates for the Stage 1 (Sponsor) approval and Stage 2 (Applicant) approval.

I've never entered one or been required to to use the page. The password is for editing, I think. Don't try to edit it? It won't make your time any faster

If you are living in Canada with your wife, you can apply Inland or Outland. Inland process, Stage 1 will take about 6 months and then Stage 2 about another 6 - 8 months. Outland process for USA, about a month for Stage 1, and then up a year more (but that is for 80% of applications to complete - most Outland Stage 2 are done in about 6-7 months). Processing times are posted here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp. The top chart is for Outland and then next one down is for Inland.
You should read this first post by Leon http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spousal-sponsorship-t46995.0.html. It gives the details to help you decide if Inland or Outland is best for your particular situation. And a lot of other really great info.
Also, then read through the Guides http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/index.asp and then post here for other questions. There are a great bunch of very well informed people that can assist. Good luck with your application!
