My wife has passport with maiden name (family name before marriage), now she is applying for new passport with my family name.
We would need to apply for new PR card too with new name... Can someone suggest if we need to submit existing PR card with application and how much time it takes to get new (replaced) PR card.....
thank you.....

Hi,

If her PR card hasn't come-up for renewal as yet, i.e. 5-yrs. from it's issuance, she doesn't require to apply for another one irrespective of her pps being renewed under a new last name.

Hello Qorax,

Nice to know that are you still helping the community with your wide knowledge.

Thank you very much for your reply and it's really good news for us that we don't need apply for new PR card because our PR card is just 7-8 months old.

I have doubt regarding, name conflict on PR card, SIN & health insurance; but prefer not to throw without searching online.

Thank you again....
