Is this a canadian term for college? In America it goes by degree's and hours and I really can't find the equivalent for a three year diploma for America.

I've never heard of a 3 year degree, it may be a technical degree, but the standard as i know it is:

2 year Associates Degree
4 year Bachelors Degree, Arts or Science
2 Year Masters Degree
2 - 4 Year Doctors Degree, this one depends if you have a masters or not.

but it none of them there is a 3 year degree, where did you go to school?

I actually just came upon this term in the assesment test thing for PR (at the Canadian website) I've never heard of a three year diploma either, that why I posted this so I could figure it out.

Quite of number of countries have 3 year Bachelor programs, India comes to mind.

PMM

So does Iceland, 3 yr bachelor and 5 yr. masters

Are you refering to a college diploma? In Canada, diplomas are issues by colleges and degrees are issues by universities.

In most cases: colleges offer 1 year certificates and two and three year diplomas.
