Thanks KelKel. I didn't realise that they would do that. What if you had to travel in the meantime? Assuming of course they would keep your passport until they stamp it...let's say a few months later.

Just an update fro my side of things! We resubmitted our application and it was received on 21Oct. I guess i am officialy on the October thread now!

From what I saw on the Manila Philippines thread, it seems like the embassy is requesting passports early on in the processing so it's no different with my case..

I dunno what to do though if for some reason one needs their passport to travel. Just have to contact CIC or the visa office I guess..

It's good to order the notes when they request an interview -- that way you have some idea of what their concerns are.

We sent our application on sept 18, just checked eCAS and still nothing but well, we're still under the 38 days time frame, it'll probably be there next wednesday.

I think like me, they used the option of a signature and a tracking # when their application packages arrived at CPC-M upon delivery, so we knew what date and time they received our applications..

Strangely, I was not able to use the receipt number to get the status. I used my client id(sponsor) to get the status. Also, for my daughter, who is the sponsored person, they have missed out a couple of characters from the middle name. Should I be worried about it and try to get it corrected or leave it be?

Oh I see, we used Canada mail that explains why we have no tracking number. Thanks cezvi.

I hope they don't mess up my name too, I usually go by my mother's last name instead of the much more traditional father's last name, but I sent them a note requesting that being the name they use for me, since it is how I am known more in Mexico; hope they take it in consideration.

I really do hope that the mistake in the middle name is not that much of an issue and it gets corrected when Buffalo starts processing the application.
Also strange thing is why the receipt number is not usable in eCas. Hopefully, the sponsorship application is not rejected ???
