@ Spakle

I sent an email on June 19 asking the status. They replied on the 22nd stating that its in process and then got the ecas update on July 2nd stating that they started processing it on June 29th.

When did you send the application?

We received a refund from the CIC today for the fee they charged us for my son's Citizenship card. As I've posted before, my son is not eligible for a citizenship card since he is adopted (we found this out after we went through the entire process of applying for one for him). Anyway, my wife received a call from the CIC on June 1st telling us that they would be refunding us the card fee. They also said that my son was reinstated as my dependant on my PR application and that our application was now in process in Buffalo.

They cut the refund check about 3 1/2 weeks after the call and we received it today (2 weeks later). We were getting concerned since the call came 5 weeks ago about getting an immediate refund and it hadn't shown up. Hopefully that means our file is indeed in process as the IO stated. There does seem to be some progress at least. Hoping to hear something else from the CIC soon.

Hello everyone,

I have been following this site for awhile, but I thought I should join and provide my input as well.

My wife is from Chicago and I am Canadian, we did the sponsorship application (approved) and then a PR Outland Application, which is now in the hands of the Buffalonians. Below is our timeline. Perhaps you guys can add it to your spreadsheet I have been reading about.

Application: Family - Spouse
Application mailed: April 28th, 2011
Application Rec'vd: April 29th, 2011
Sponsorship Approved via email and snail mail: May 31st, 2011
Application for PR received by Buffalo: June 6th, 2011
Sent inquiry to CIC: July 7th, 2011 for a status update

sparkle, I hope you're right, but since we've been "in process" since January 19th and have heard nothing since then beyond our email explaining that we sent custody paperwork with the original application. That was in February and we heard anything since then other than that email was sent to the the people working on the file. I'd like to at least know if that person received the email from us and that they understand that my wife does very much indeed have legal custody of her son and included a legal document from her state, which was signed by the kid's father. Very frustrating not knowing if what we've done is even enough.

I'm coming up on 4 months since my filing date, and not a word from Buffalo. As much as I'd like to admit that I'm not anxious, I'm so ready to get this done. If it makes anyone feel better, there are some Marchers who aren't part of the cool group and haven't gotten on the list yet.

Wishing everyone good news soon! Hang in there!

I replied to Jason Kenneys office yesterday asking why Nov-Feb group is at a stand still and March apps are getting there ppr eversince the new computer system.I even pasted the spreadsheet In the email. So we will see what there answer is to this.

Hello All!

I've been lurking for a few months but thought I should come out of the shadows to share my timeline.

Sparkle, please feel free to add to the spreadsheet.

My husband is a Canadian living in the US. We applied this year. I am one of the March applicants ;-)

We just received this email in response to our address change:

"Your file number is F0000XXXXX

Not sure what this means, but it's something =)

Does receiving this file number represent an AOR?

canuckofchicago: yes, that is AOR! you might want to modify your post here to "X" out your F and B numbers. just for security purposes.

Thanks Eletyl. I appreciate you pointing that out. I presume the next step is receiving an "In Process" update?. It seems odd that those that receive some applicants have both their AOR and In Process on the same day, according to the spreadsheet.

I tried using the B numbers on ECAS but for some reason it doesn't recognize it. Is that because the file is not being reviewed as of yet?

the immigration file (B or F) numbers should bring up the same exact info that your client ID or receipt # does. however, it took a while for mine to work, also.
