So...really? No newss from Buffalo?? Unbelievable :(

Not a damn thing. I was looking over the October (I originally applied in October) and November threads last night and noticed most of those were wrapped up with the exception of a few unfortunate couples (poor Rinnerz for example) :( Then it hits December and just stops...so odd.

I believe with a little luck most of December Apps will be completed by July1st I also believe that if I had paid the RPRF with the other fees as was instructed that we would have received a PPR instead of the latter asking us to pay the RPRF so hang in there another 2 weeks and it should be over for most of December filiers

Yep. All the October Buffalo applicants (except myself) have been done for awhile now; November's mostly done, I believe. I'm assuming the December group got hit with the repercussions of Buffalo's massive backlog. Hopefully they'll get through those soon...

I'm going to join in with your hope and pray that this happens

(Though we sent in the RPRF and the FBI check after so we might be alittle longer...then again we sent it in at the beginning of April so we may be ok and its with the file *crosses fingers*)

Hang in there all we will get through this soon :)

I don't think that should be a major concern...And anyway, it's postal guy who will have to worry about it, and I am sure they won't get confused by that :)

I talked to my dad, and he said I shouldn't worry. Especially since our post office is so small and they all know him anyway, haha. I can't help but be nitpicky over all this though! :P

My mom keeps saying the same thing. I really hope you're both right! ;D

From the looks of the spreadsheet, Buffalo's computer change had a pretty big effect. There is one AOR and one In Process for the entire month of February, and if I recall correctly, that's right about when I first saw the notice about the change on Buffalo's website... So an entire month of work lost there, it would seem.

Hello,

I am a PR (applied for citizenship) in Toronto. I sponsored my wife via the outland application to Buffalo october 2010. her file was transferred to the NY office jan 25, 2011. today she got an email saying we need to go for an interview september 7th to the NY office. the only problem is that she doesn't have a US visa. she had a post grad work permit which expired june 1st. we applied for her visitor record online the same day (june 1st) as we were told by CIC post grad work permits cannot be extended. in this case, if we apply for a US visa for her then will she be able to re-enter canada? someone please advise and guide me!

thanks
Adi

If she is a US citizen, then she doesn't need a Visa to re-enter Canada. USA is Visa-exempt.

she's an indian citizen. she had come here as an international student and that's why she got her post grad work permit which was valid for one year.

I'm so sorry. She will need a visa to enter the States and because she needs a visa to enter Canada then she would not be allowed to reenter Canada without one. It's a tough position that you're in. The application would have been more suited to an inland app.

Yes - I'm with Kelkel on this one. You're in a tough spot and I really feel for you. They won't transfer her file - so she has to make it to the interview in the US or her application will be denied. (We've seen this happen to a few people here - typically they haven't been able to get a US visa for the interview.) Since it sounds like you can't get a re-entry permit for Canada (and don't yet know if the US visa will be rejected or approved), you may have to abandon the application and start from scratch as either inland or outland through India.

I would double check that she really can't get a re-entry permit for Canada. On the off chance she can, you'll then have to hope she'll be approved for the US visit visa.

I really hope you don't have to start from scratch. Good luck...

Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete.

thanks for your concern! however, we have applied for a visitor record for her. if we get that before the US visa interview, do you think she can re-enter canada with the visitor record?

I'm afraid I don't know. Hopefully someone else can confirm.

Good luck! Hope it works out!
