Thanks :) Me too! So relieved...

Since I already am in Canada on my work permit right now we were thinking about heading down to Las Vegas (I've never been) for an extended weekend beginning of July, and then land on the way back 8)

Not sure what the deadline for landing is, but I assume I have time until at least September..
So now onto figuring out how to send my passport (and taking new photos)....

Congratulations!! That's awesome (Vegas is an awfully fun place!) I may be wrong but I think you only have 30 days after you get your passport back to land. Something to check into. I've read on here before people wanting to wait and decided not to. My PPR didn't say anything about deadlines for landing. I know there is a deadline on sending your passport in, but not all to sure about how long you can wait to land. I'll look around online and see if I can find anything helpful :)

I've had numerous people asking what I've been doing different lately and telling me I look great (like the Bran commercial)! Honestly no more anxiety, huge smile on my face, it really shows!
Ha! Me too!! Everybody was like you look so happy and you're glowing. I can't being to explain how much better I feel. The anxiety and sleepless nights, I won't miss at all!!

Sparkle-Be careful in your decision making about moving to the US as this could cause delays in your application as well. I hope that you don't have to have an interview! But if you do, you can never be too prepared :) Good luck!

Oh you are right ! If I move to US, that can cause a problem...since I am a PR, and I have to be physically living in Canada. !
Arggh.....well, then it's a move to Windsor I guess.
I hope that won't be a problem if I change my address then, as long as I am in Canada...I hope they wont delay the file then !

Congrats valy79 !! I've updated the spreadsheet :)

Thanks for mentioning that! I remember that I had read somewhere that the deadline has to do something with when you did your Medicals (which I found really strange). I was hoping that I would get that information once I get my passport back, but I guess not....
It would be awesome if you could post it if you find any information on it, thanks :)

Congrats! The visa will be valid to the date from when you got your Medicals done. So if you got them done say Oct 15th that will be the date on your visa and you have until then to land.

Sorry I forgot to post back, got a little busy. I just applied for University!! I'll finally be back in school after 2 years of waiting!! Phew I feel so much better now! (now here's to hoping I get accepted into the program)

Kelkel is correct, but make sure you check when you get your visa! Just in case :)

2. How long can I wait to land in Canada after my Canada Immigration Visa is issued?

You must land in Canada before the expiry date, which appears on your Canada Immigration Visa. Usually, the expiry date is one year from the time medical examinations were completed. As this is not always the case, be sure to verify the expiry date as soon as you receive your Canada Immigration Visa.

This is where I found the info (on this site) http://www.canadavisa.com/canadian-immigration-faq-landing.html

The status is eCAS changed to Decision Made yesterday!!! No PPR email yet. Hopefully it will come soon.

The CAIPS notes were invaluable in figuring out why it was taking so long. The results of the medical exam for my husband's non-accompanying daughter had not been forwarded to Buffalo. We received the IA in October 2010, no additional documents were required and eCAS said that medical results were received. The BF date was 01-02-2011, however they did not do anything about the missing medical and they did not inform us they needed them. We faxed Ottawa after we got the CAIPS notes and they sent the results to Buffalo the next day.

Thanks! I applied to the University of the Fraser Valley (in BC) and the dental assisting program. Rumor has it that they're closing the dental hygiene program, so I chose the next best thing. I used to be pre-Dental Science at Portland State Univ. however I decided to change my major to dental hygiene. Wasn't ready for 8 more years of school! The hygiene field is flooded in the lower mainland, so I am choosing assisting until the program and job opportunities rise. So I'm crossing my fingers it all works out. School should be easy, I already graduated a dental assisting program (through an advanced learning center for high school students) however it was not an accredited program, so unfortunately I have to do it again here in BC.

imstillwaiting- Good luck, I bet it's good news! My e-cas still hasn't changed..lol
