hehe, On a side note, I got a bundle of e-mails this morning, and they were all vicious fakes. Promises of wonderful things on eCAS with absolutely NO changes. I'm glad yours were for real!

well, you know, for the past two tuesdays I got "fake" updates too (from e-cas tracker). So maybe in two weeks you'll get PPR! Of course, nothing is consistent, but we always try to guess anyway, don't we?

hi, I'd like to join this thread! Here is my info, and timeline so far:

-US citizen in Quebec
-applying spousal route, outland via Buffalo
-1st marriage for both of us, no kids, pretty simple (I think/hope!)

July 1, 2009: arrived in Quebec on a work permit
July 31, 2009: met my (future) spouse
May 1, 2010: moved in together
October 2, 2010: married
November 12, 2010: sent off fingerprints to 3 states and FBI while visiting the US
December 16, 2010: received FBI report
December 20, 2010: meds done
December 30, 2010: mailed application to Mississauga
December 31, 2010: application received in Mississauga
January 26, 2011: sponsor (my husband) approval
March 9, 2011: CSQ approval

I can logon to e-Cas with my client ID now, but all I see is my full name, and no other information. So I think that means I am still waiting on AOR from Buffalo.

My work permit runs out on July 1, 2011 (and I've had trouble securing another job), so I am REALLY hoping for PPR before then! :)

We got the letter today!! Sponsorship approve!!!

Finallyyyyyyyyyyyyyy decision made :p although it took them 1 year to make decision on my case but i am still happy

Congrats Ibraham, finally!

Just a quick not for help and apologies for already posting this on the File Transfer thread. How long does it take from PPR to receiving passport back with visa? I've tried searching the threads for an answer without success. Many thanks.

There were some other people talking about that on this thread, a few pages back. Seemed like it has been taking about two weeks from when you send it until you receive it back. Also, will depend on how long it takes to get there and back too. If you're in the East, likely it will be a few days quicker. I'm on the west coast, so it'll take longer to get there and back. I just sent off my passport today. I expect it to be there by friday. I'll be checking the tracker.

You're a star. Thanks for that. My son is in the east. I'll let him know. :)

Congrats!

My husband and I have been waiting 7 months since AOR. Still nothing :(

We got our CAIPS notes but they only revealed that his RCMP check was clear and he passed the medical requirements. I assume we got them too early to learn much else!

It's hard not to get stressed.

Jessibee you should have a bring forward day in your CAIPS which would tell you the next time your file will be looked at.

Did your IA specifically say that you need to pay your RPRF (was it circled or something)? I remember reading somewhere that the letter they use is generic.

Mine said the same thing about RPRF. Nor was it circled, just noted that in the case of denial it will be refunded or something like that.

Jessibee I feel your pain! Hopefully not much longer for us.

Congrats to all those who recieved PPRs. Nothing for me unfortunately. Hopefully before my birthday so that I can celebrate my 21st with my family. I miss them.

As for the time it takes to mail off PP to get your visa, the turn around is usually after about 8-15 days from receipt. Use US or Canada Post overnight it. Also use a prepaid postage for return. That usually speeds it up. I'm on the west coast, and I definitely cannot afford to fly to Buffalo atm, so this is the best.

If you are in Canada, there are two options for mailing your PP. You can mail it within Canada, or to Buffalo. I don't remember where it's at but I'll look it up and post in here in a few minutes. Cheers!

You can send your passport to Buffalo if you want but there's also the option of sending it to Fort Erie.

A helpful user that has already landed messaged me this: her hubby sent his passport to Fort Erie, Ontario because he was already in Canada visiting her. They sent it on July 15th and it was returned on August 3rd. They sent it overnight and included a prepaid Canada Post envelope to send it back. (this was in 2010)

Here's the link:
http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/submit_soumettre.aspx

When your passport request comes by email, they'll send that link and few others.
