btw how long does it take after the Passport request?

Depends if KelKel mails or "Hand Delivers" her passport. As soon as I got my PPR I booked my flight and flew to Buffalo, SAME DAY. The next day I went to Buffalo got my Visa and landed , same day.

I'd fly to Buffalo, but it's expensive, I'd have to arrange a rental car, and I wouldn't have any of my stuff with me. When I get PPR, I'm packing everything into my car, driving 14 hours (a day's drive), spending the night, getting my visa the next morning, landing, then going to Toronto for a day. Then I'm driving 3000-ish KM to Edmonton, Alberta. Fun fun!
