Oops, I just saw the address is a PO box, I guess I can't FedEx the rprf receipt there?

Well, there's a separate P.O. box address for RPRF payments than for file submissions but only one address for couriers, so if you really want to use a courier, I guess the only option is to send to the municipal address and they will separate your RPRF payment from file submissions. I would fill out the receipt completely, and in addition to including the file number and which visa office currently is processing your application, the name and Client ID of the principal applicant.

I also assume that I should send to the courier address if I am using FedEx?

Also I should put my name in the receipt (I am sponsor)

You could also fax to Los Angeles and then send to the RPRF-specific P.O. Box address, saving your money. I think you want to inform the visa office first, and faxing it to them would achieve that, but CPC-M should get a copy at some point.

does anyone know why Buffalo is so slow compared to other offices like Berlin, UK, or nd?

You would think US citizens would be easy to process, its not like the living conditions are different across the border.

Not wanting to sound political and all, but I don't believe it's as well as it used to be south of the border. My old state (Michigan) for example, has been economically depressed for years. But no, generally it's about the same as far as living conditions go. I hope fortunes will turn for the better in the States though, as I worry about my family down there. The distance has a lot to do with my worries, too.

With the economic downturn, I have to wonder if some people are voting with their feet? I've heard on the TV here about six weeks or so ago about Americans coming up here to look for work. The Buffalo visa office deals with visa applications from a couple of other places besides the US, but how many people live in either Bermuda, or St. Pierre and Miquelon to make a difference in the caseload?

I have a question:
I sponsor my husband, and our file has been forwarded to NY office now.
He is New zealand citizen and living with me in Canada now. We're planning to go to Hawaii for holiday in March, whether He and I could leave canada for around 10 days during the waiting period?
Thanks!

We applied via Buffalo office (Outland), and it was transferred to NY office on 16 January, 2012.

There's no issue with that. Staying in Canada for the duration of the processing is only an issue for inlanders, as their applications would be canceled if they were not allowed to re-enter Canada. Even if the PA in your case were prevented from re-entering the country, he could continue waiting for his visa outside of Canada.

Well what can I say? You know where to find the answers to pretty much any question that could possibly be asked, whereas that one had me guessing. :)

Thanks. I definitely don't know everything about immigration, but you can't help but become pretty familiarized when spend as much time on the forum as I do, and I've learned a lot from many of the people who are pretty knowledgable that post here :D
