go on www.usps.com and enter the same number there. Whenever the mail gets to the US, you can track the step-by-step timeline on the US website. I sent mine with registered mail from Canada and once it crossed the border I was able to check it on the US website. Look on there to see if it says something different.

Thank you! I looked it up and it says that it was missent, forwarded, then finally "Processed through USPS Sort Facility." So it's back there now? I don't get it. I used the exact address that was on the letter they sent us. I can't tell you how frustrated I am right now. More delays. I could cry. :(

It may not take 2 weeks. We got our receipts in the mail just 2 days after requesting them.

Hey. I applied a year ago I guess, don't really remember exactly when. I'm not sure what e-cas is. Sorry :)
Congrats! You must be a happy person if you don't remember when you applied ;)

No, don't worry, it happens. Once it cleared the customs department in New York, it was probably put on the wrong truck. It will be redirected and then put on the right truck and then delivered to the consulate :) Calm down, no need to be worried, it'll get there :)

Lol, I've been pretty busy so haven't had much time to obsess about the process, also figured stressing about it wasn't going to make it happen any faster.

Car insurance in GTA

This is totally off topic , but I was wondering how much is the car insurance in Toronto area. I tried to do some research online and it seems like it is pretty steep; about $300/month at least! Also got a quote online from kanetix.ca and it came out to be 6k/year. We need to decide whether to take our car there based on the cost of a car insurance. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Just because you live there, doesn't mean you need to get it from there :) My aunt lives in southern Ontario, her insurance company is in northern ontario. Just food for thought :)

The average claim in Toronto is about 80k due to the bottom feeding lawyers and medical lawsuits. First time I've ever seen insurance premiums as high as car payments.

No problem!

Car insurance premiums have nothing to do with where the company is located. Your premiums are based on where you live and the claims history in that area. An Insurance company can refuse to pay a claim if the vehicle has not been rated properly

I don't know about that. Now Canada Post is saying, "Item has been received at the delivery office in the destination country." It sounds like it was sent back to us. They rejected the letter?

That sounds like it is at the main postal office for the country you sent it to... which means next step would be delivery to destination building.
