Thanks pharoh I appreciate you taking your time to answer. I will give it another month and then maybe contact mississauga hopefully I won't have too! This is the worst thing that can happen to anyone so let's hope it's not the case for any of us.

Hope we get some wonderful news in the coming weeks! Great success to all! Xoxo

(I’m using the dates that are on the letters).

AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt – the first official document that says the application for permanent residence status has been received.
PPR – Passport request – Immigration requests passport when they are ready to issue the visa.
DM - Decision made (waiting on letter to confirm)

Thanks for the update canadayogini!

I'm so worried I mean I know not many of us have the inprocess yet but I tried contacting Beirut and Damascus office they have nothing yet so I contacted Mississauga and they said we sent the applications out right after approval because we have no reason to keep them so maybe your office that you chose has received it but hasn't started working on applications received that day. So I called Beirut&Damascus office to see where they are at with the processing like at which dates of applications received they are working on and all they could tell me was we don't know nobody knows you're gonna have to wait! Ouch!

So I'll give it another 3 weeks max and hopefully I'll hear something otherwise I'd be devastated to find out that our application is nowhere to be found!!

Good luck to all my novembiessss and hopefully we get some good news inshallah :-)

thanks canadayogini for the update
just to let u know that nairobi started processing my application on janaury 5{that means my in process date will be janaury 5}
and i gt my AOR on january 13
god bless u
and thanks once more

Hi EVERYONE!!!

I am VERY PLEASED TO say I have received the AOR today January 20th 2011!!!!! WOOOHOOO, ALSO TODAY I RECEIVED MY SPONSORSHIP LETTER!!!!!

So now I have been approved as a sponsor, and the app has been received at the applicable visa office!!! I couldn't be happier :)

The long wait begins and unfortunately the email my husband received said the waiting time from now will be 9-18 months!!!! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

hey mine has a ? mark ... Mine went to Vegriville Alberta or however you spell it :)

Does the order go: "in progress" and then "AOR"? I thought they sent an AOR when they have received the application and then it goes to "In Progress" because they are working on it, and then a passport request.

In theory, that's how it's supposed to be. In some cases, people get AOR, then InProcess. In other cases, people get InProcess, than AOR. In some cases, people get AOR and no InProcess. In other cases, people get InProcess, but never get an AOR. In some places (e.g. London), people don't get ANYTHING, until contacted for their passports. *shrug*

eCas is a wonderful system. Har. ::)

Cheers everyone. Serenifly - got you as 'inland'... Getson has the ? as wasn't sure where that application was going.

Hi all,
Just thought I'd put our timelines here too.
I'm a South African living in the UK for the last 8 years with Indefinite Leave to Remain and my partner is Canadian, from Calgary. She moved here in 2008 and now we want to move back to CA to be closer to her family.

We sent our application away on 8 Nov and it arrived in CA office on 16th of Nov. We got a letter to tell us our file is being transferred to the London office on the 9th of Dec - and then the wait started.

I've done my medicals on the 24th of Sep thinking that I had to get that done before I can send our app in. And then we waited for 5 weeks for 'something back from the medical' that we can put in our application only to find out that the medical info gets sent on to the London office directly!
So in effect we wasted more than 5 weeks - doh!

Anyway, it looks like we are in the same position as a lot of you. Good luck to all and I'll keep you updated on our progress.

- Bart

Hi, everyone.... I apply PR inland. I sent my app on 1st Nov and they received it on 3rd Nov but I haven't heard anything from CIC till now.

I'd be appreciated if anyone, especially inland applicant, could share their updated if you got any notice from CIC

Good luck for all of us :)
