I can't tell you how excited I am, we have one more piece of paperwork to sign then will be sending in our application to CPC-M today.

Probably like everyone else, it has been a loooong process, it feels like the paperwork has been both on my mind and my kitchen table for months.

It's been a bit of back and forth too... I thought I had printed and completed all the forms only to realise when going through the checklist I'd missed a few (got caught out on the additional family details form)... plus a lot of questions to the immigration office to clarify various details. This forum has been a great resource too, I'm really grateful for this online community!

We are in Australia, applying outland (my husband is Canadian and lives here with me in Australia) so I'm assuming once the first stage is done at CPC-M the paperwork will be transferred to the Sydney office for processing. Hoping it won't take forever, I'd love to have a decision before the next winter so we can at least arrive before the snow does.

Looking forward to hearing replies from YOU to hear how your application is going!

Before the snow, No Problem! You'll be able to land just before Summer I think :) Sydney is quite fast

Yogini - that sounds like my life!! Three months of filling out forms, making changes, finding photos, getting statutory declarations done etc etc and I think that we are going to file this week or next.

I am SOOO excited!

Be interesting to hear how it goes for you guys. We're filing outland in England as it's supposed to be a few months quicker than doing it in Canada.

*Fingers crossed*

I can relate to all of that too. I have had piles of papers on my table for a few months and have found it very stressful getting it all organised! Very happily, we finally sent off our application today...by courier so they should have it tomorrow. Now the stress of waiting but at least I can see my kitchen table again!!

I am the sponsor, Canadian living in the UK with my common law British partner. Now we are really hoping to move to Nova Scotia next year. We have lived together for 7 years so we are really hoping they will find our case very straight forward.

I also have found this board really helpful and found answers to questions I couldn't seem to find anywhere else.

Good luck to everyone with hearing a decision soon.

Hey Jen,

Well done on getting everything out today!! Must be a huge relief!

I can't wait until we file....firstly, like you, I'll actually be able to see my coffee table again and our house won't be littered with papers. But also, once it's out - there's nothing you can do....huge weight off the shoulders as it's more stressful than people like to think.

Shame we've been at this for three months and only just found this site a couple of days ago. But since I found it, we've been reading pages and pages to see what we should do, what we shouldn't do etc.

Good luck!!

It is a huge weight off my shoulders but I also have these little niggly doubts wondering if I missed something or did something wrong. Paranoid I know!! It is all I have thought about for months! Though it will be nice to get my life back for a bit! ;D

hi guys
so who's going to update the nov thread?
i sent mine on oct 29 but was received today 1 nov @10:44am

For those of you who have sent already - did you put a covering letter and then tabs throughout? So...

Tab 1 - Application for Permanent Residence
Tab 2 - Background Declaration
Tab 3

etc etc....

Cheers, dish

I sent my application on Oct. 27th and it was received today, Nov. 1st.
Yay, November! :)

dishy_max - I put a cover letter and kind of table of contents of the supporting documents. The table had the document number (each page numbered in the bottom right corner), the description of what it was, how many pages and the application form it related to. It didn't take too long to set up and was invaluable in keeping track of what I still had to photocopy and also helped me relate each document back to the relevant form.

I was up at night worried that I'd sent in the original of the sponsorship agreement and not the photocopy, oops, hope that won't cause delays. Too late to do anything about it just now.

Anyway, I'm happy to do the updates, considering I know I will be checking my application and this thread obsessively until we get approval :-)

I followed the documents check list and put tabs between each section. I used tons of paperclips too to separate each section into the different forms and documents. I didn't put a covering letter but we both did write a letter regarding our relationship and why we want to come to Canada. I searched these forums to see about the cover letter and some did and some didn't. I don't think it really matters too much about that.

Thanks Canadayogini for doing the updates for us.

Yikes - I gotta get filing soon.....it's depressing to see you lot have all sent your forms off and there's a big 'ole blank beside my name!

;)

don't worry dishy, it's not a race, everything will happen in it's own time, exactly as it's supposed to.
Use it to provide added inspiration, we are cheering you on!

My application finally arrived at Mississauga yesterday. Now the long wait begins!!
