So since my last post and now, i got my letter! It was dated the 10th of December. So excited!!!!!!
So now my application is in (or on it's way to) London for further processing!

Congrats bumbledbee! You'll have PPR within a couple of months or less. The London office is VERY fast.

Buffalo, on the other hand... *grumble*.

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! well looks like I got my xmas present Doesn't mean I've been approved as a sponsor but at least my file has been updated!!!!! The only problem I have now is the mailing system here in the Dom Rep is HORRIBLE!!! My co-worker got a bday card 1 1/2 years after it was sent to her!!.... what do I do if I don't receive anything in lets say 3-4 months?????
Does this mean the application has been sent to the visa office??

I'm so grateful a decision has been made, but now my worries are what if I don't ever get this letter! :'(

hiiiiii

i just got letter from immigration office that my husband got sponsorship from me !!!

i am sooo happy.i can jump to the ceiling!!

for past few days since i saw the'decision made' on E-cas.

yes i coudnt concentrate on my job........i was very frastrated.
now i feel much better and christmas vacation will start tomorrow!!
it is a wanderful gift for christmas to us!! except my husband is not here. :-[

I just went on E-Cas and checked using my recipt number.... no email.

I don't know why they don't start sending the sponsorship letters via email!!! It's so much easier and much more convenient! It's not like they don't aak for an email address on your application.....

The Beijing office in China contacted my wife by email to ask for some more things from her. Some are not a problem but some we don't have yet (her Quebec approval) and they are not giving much time to get these things. They said we have 45 days to get it and with mailing and the holidays and the 30 days it takes Quebec to approve her and me I think it will be tight!!!1

AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt – the first official document that says the application for permanent residence status has been received.
PPR – Passport request – Immigration requests passport when they are ready to issue the visa.
DM - Decision made (waiting on letter to confirm)

Hey friends,

I hope you've all enjoyed a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays, and are looking forward to the New Year. I know I am.

I've enjoyed the holidays here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I love being with my spouse, and I love being in Canada. I enjoy the bitter cold, a 9AM sunrise, the friendly faces, Tim Horton's, French writing everywhere, etc. It kills me to have to return to the States in a few days. Arrgh. I've been tempted to call home and break ties with everything there (e.g. work) and just wait out the rest of the Outland process here, but unfortunately, with bills piling up in the States, and needing some financial security with my spouse, staying here wouldn't seem to be the best idea. It's best to go back home, continue working, make preparations for the eventual move (which is time consuming), and enjoy fellowship with family there. All of these things provide a small amount of distraction from the wait at hand. I think that's really the key; keeping yourself busy.

I know things are really quiet right now, and that can be discouraging. I keep telling myself I should be landing in 90-ish days (which sounds better than saying three months), and that helps me keep my chin up. I'm hopeful some of you can take strength in this. Those of you not going through Buffalo, but say, London or Beijing, should have PPR well before us Yankees do.

In looking at the most updated list, it would seem there's still 5-6 people without approval from Missisagua. You all should be getting a Decision Made any day now, quite literally, and possibly this week, depending on how the holidays have impacted things. I'm not sure how big of a delay there will be, I don't think anyone does. I've poked my head into the October thread as well, and all is quiet. There's good news in the September thread, however, and in the August thread, quite a few people have already landed. We're well on our way to that point, we're just waiting in queue behind the other months!

I'll never scoff at a Timmie's again. I don't like their coffee but somehow miss the whole tradition of seeing the signs everywhere... I did love their egg sandwiches!

I know it's tough to be away from your partner. But you are doing the right thing to go back to your commitments for a while, save a little more, pay some more bills and keep working on the plan for your big move up north.

I said to my husband over christmas - maybe we should also just go there now already and wait out the process. But that's a ridiculous idea. Way too expensive, we must also wait. It's a big move from Australia and with a toddler as well. I'll need that visa so I can at least work part time to cover the costs of the move.

I don't know if this is an AOR but Beijing emailed and also sent a letter to my wife and I saying that they have our/her file and will look into but they want her passport and cause we're going to Quebec with my family until we can get on our feet they want the Quebec approval.

Actually Pharoh, according to Beijing's website they take 4-8 months and in the letter we got from them they said 6 months so you will be there before us. I miss Canada and I need to get back there to enjoy how life is like there.
