Laura: We have a similar timeline through the London Visa Office :) You check E-CAS on the CIC website but put your Client Id in or the receipt number

Yes we do. :) I figured I use the CIC website still.. At the moment it still says "not available" for the PR part.. I was hoping I was doing it wrong and in fact it was in process! haha Wishful thinking hey ;)

jmni1: Congrats on your Sponsorship approval!! Good luck for stage 2!

im losing hope. didn't receive any result from cic yet.... >:( >:( >:(

Djmonay: Can you not log into E-CAS yet?? Have you tried logging in with the receipt number?

2 pm this afternoon, CIC manila called and asked why did i not ticked YES question #9 - 2nd bullet of schedule 1 background / declaration. this is the same question britincanada brought up a few days ago and i only noticed mine last night!!! This morning, I made a corrected copy and was about to leave the house to fax and mail the 1st page together with an explanation letter when the IO called. They asked me the period and the length of my stay in Canada. Good thing I included the dates of my stay in canada on addresses lived (although i think it's not needed as i was there for a visit). They also told me to fax the document which i did and mailed it as well to make sure they receive it.

As soon as i got home, i checked my mail and saw this

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order to continue the processing of your application, we require the following:

• IMM008 Schedule I and IMM5406 for dependents

To ensure the timely processing of your application, the document(s) and information we have requested should be provided to us within forty-five (45) days from the date of this letter.
Only original documents or, when unavailable, certified documents are acceptable.
The file number noted above must be included on all correspondence with this office.

I understand that they want to have an updated copy of my childrens' records besides i did not submit the youngest's documents as he just got 18 a month after we filed the application. now my question is, they say All Correspondence, should i put the file number on each document or should i put it once on the cover letter for the requested documents/forms?

Put your full name and the file number on each document just incase they get separated from the rest of your application for some reason..it happens! ::)

thanks britincanada. should i also put it on each pages of the forms like schedule 1, additional family info forms? i feel so tense..i couldn't think right...whew

Yes if your are sending documents pertaining to the forms they require write on the top of each document:

- Your FULL name
- Client ID
- File Number
- Which form it pertains to!

I hope this helps :)

thank you, thank you, thank you so much britincanada, just dont know where my senses are now...good thing u are here and replying fast...hugs!

You are welcome Missmyhoney..Just wish I could solve my own predicament! I overstayed in 2007 for 16 months..left without being deported or removal order..but didnt spell it out to the IO in my application..now I have a little voice in my head saying " your going to be denied PR because you stayed too long and didnt directly tell them!!" Although I did state when I entered and exited Canada and when I had my VR's issued to me...I didnt write "I overstayed" now I am worried they might think I lied to them!! Or tried to hide it!

wish i can be of comfort to you britincanada. i can only hope and pray that they wont make it more difficult as it already is, and hope they wont ask or even think about the overstay as ur from a visa exempt country.

News again, for me :P

I got a letter(sponsor received one too but is slightly different) from visa office that says:

This Acknowledgement confirms receipt of your application for PR and accompanying fees.

Your application has been assigned the following nr: bxxxxxxxxxx

Its 1 page long saying that they work on it and I received some stickers, should i need to send extra documents.

Anyone else got it? Is it a good sign?I hope they dont ask for extra as separation makes time go by very slowly

Thank you missmyhoney I think I am stressed out mostly because I am waiting for an answer on my application to extend my VR, I should hear about it in the next 2 -3 weeks CIC is now on Applications received 30 April..they got mine on 13 May! I am hoping they will say sure you can stay..especially as my Husband is approved to sponsor me..I have not been declined yet!

cyanmaple: Congrats..Thats the letter I am impatiently waiting for! :)

Does anyone know a case of IF they can or have asked person being sponsored their educational credentials??? I.e. Proof of degree, diploma etc?? I would think that this is irrelevant for spousal sponsorship??

Please any input!
