hey i just wanna know if they check for completeness of file before PPR coz they send me PPR the same day they started processing.
do they review the file before changing the status to "in proess"?

i don't know if they could ask for additional documents or some missing documents?

Some Visa Offices ask for your Passport at the start of the process and others wait until you application is fully processed and CIC is about to issue the PR Visa!

So we called the cic call centre to see why there is no update on ecas...basically, they told wife...they cant see it....and we gotta wait!!

oh well!

shikha99 - this is the May 2010 thread

However, Congratulations! You must be so happy that she has her visa in less than 6 months of processing.

SWEET LORD! I just received PPR Letter! =) New Delhi Office! It is dated 8th July 2010 but I received it today (July 21) ! Snail Mail INDEED!
Few Bar Code stickers are also attached.

It has also asked me to submit Police Clearance, if not already submitted; Right of Permanent Resident Fee, if not already paid.

All the best to all who are waiting for Visa/PPR!!!

Congratulations xyrus!

I hope they process your application quickly and that you have your visa in a few months.

Hey xyrus, great news!! congrats!! i am so happy for you. which part of india are you in? I wonder why it took so long to get it. I wish that they had sent me PPR too!!

Thanks much for your kind wishes bobshynoswife n Rachel. =) Likewise for both of u....

The irony is im mere 10 kms away from the Immigration office. Im in DLF, Gurgaon, Haryana. I guess the delay is because of the fact that my place lies in a different state... >:(

I even couriered it by BlueDart! =) placed the bar code stickers on the envelope and the PP..... they also asked for expired passport!

LOL..Thats terrible.. I guess shite happens! ::)

Just a note for everyone here obsessively checking e-cas. There is a tracker you can use. You input your information and it emails you with updates. I have not tried to log into e-cas myself, yet this tracker has sent me 2 updates. It's beautiful, I don't get frustrated trying it every day. Both times it has sent me an email in the middle of the night - what a nice surprise to wake up to!

You'll find it here https://ecas.carroll.org.uk/

It was created by someone just like us, who was frustrated with logging in every day looking for updates.

Hope this helps someone!

Bobbynowife, does it mean CIC share the PR infos to that website given ? The good thing is to have that website for a reminder, but just worry about the confidentiality. Tks

No, CIC doesn't actively share people's info with the tracker. With your permission, the tracker goes to get info from CIC on your behalf.

Think of it like a little robot that remembers your ecas login info, and goes to the CIC website for you to check every day, so you don't have to. The robot goes to check for you, remembers what it saw last time, then if something has changed it emails you. If nothing has changed it doesn't do anything.

Received this e-mail today and looking for some advice...

We have reviewed your application for permanent residence in Canada and have determined that you have provided insufficient documentation to prove that you and your sponsor, (name) have co-habited for a continuous 12 month period. Please provide further official documentation in joint or own names, that proves that you and your sponsor have co-habited for a continuous 12 month period.

Basically we had to live with her father from March 2009 until November 2009 so we do not have any bills etc. in both our names for this period. We paid her father to live there but never got receipts. I am going to get her father to write us some receipts and include these. He has already sent a letter saying we lived with him. From November onwards we lived at my partners home that she bought and have already included bills in both our names up until we mailed our application.

Does anyone have any advice of other proof we can send?
Also they said they would not review any correspondence for 3-4 months! ahhh, That is a massive delay! Do you really think it will take them take long to start looking at our case again??

Thanks

Do you have anything with your own name or your partners own name and the address you lived at together during these time periods? Can be you own bank account..cell phone bill anything really? They dont have to be joint accounts just have to prove you both had the same address!

Hey - i lived with my in-laws as well...

how about this...

- rent receipts from them and a lease (im sure they can make these for u)
- letter from her parents saying u resided with them....and ur relationship signed
- more photos
- any i mean any bills, insurance, purchase reciepts, emails, old phone bills....showing u called each other...

good luck n dont worry!

We already sent receipts for things we purchased together during this time and is has both our names on and same address. I had a cell phone but it was pay as you go so now contract etc..
hmm, I just spoke to my partners father and he said he is going to write a letter saying we cleaned, bought groceries etc. to live there.. which we did. He doesnt know if he can write receipts as he is not sure whether is should of put our rent money though taxes.. (does anyone know)

Thanks for your replies :)
