Quick question:

After receiving the sponsor letter, what is the next step?

Do we receive anything from Buffalo? Does the sponsor or the applicant receive the next letter? How long does this normally take?

Thanks,

Lys

I believe after a couple of weeks you get an AOR letter from Buffalo saying that they have your app and they are working on it.. and then the long wait starts.. but hopefully not too long! :)

still can't login to ecas :'(

Lysiana;

The applicant should receive the next letter. It's called an AOR (acknowledgment of receipt) from the foreign office. After that, there is sometimes nothing until the PPR (passport request) or interview date. We are all beginning the most frustrating part of our journey now.

I am sending out good vibes to all of our May applicants that everything is done by the end of 2010!

wow will it really take that long??!!

^^^^^^^^
Your office takes 5-14 months to process
Mine takes 11-20 months
New Delhi 2-6 months
Port of spain is 7-14 months
even Buffalo is 4-10 months

And that is from the date the office receives your application, not the date it was sent to Mississauga!

So yes, I would think it would take a miracle for all of us to be done in the next 6 months, but hey, I'm an optimist!!

@djmonay: call CIC so you'll know the status of your application that way you know where do you stand. I can't login to ecas either so i called CIC and advised that they sent a letter on June 23..

I am so disappointed. I called CIC to check the status of my application and they told me that they sent it back last friday because they need the original copy of my husband's medical result (I can't remember if i sent them only the photocopy)urrrghhhhh... time wasted. This only means that I have to reapply again and wait again for another long long time..*sigh

Question: So if I am to resend the application with the original copy of the medical of my husband then i dont have to change anything??I just have to include that copy and is good to go again?..or do i have to pay again for the application?

***We will be moving in a different address on August, are we gonna change the whole application's address again or I'L just leave it like that and inform them later on that we changed address?

Just send it back once you include the original copy of the medical result. For change of address you can inform them later.

I asked my mom about the original copy issue of the medical and she told me that the one responsible in sending the original copy of the medical is the doctor who checked my husband. She also added that maybe the original receipt of the medical is what CIC were looking for.

One more thing: Are they gonna send the whole application to me or just a letter requesting for additionals?

Yes, whatever the doctor gave you back is what you're supposed to send in. My husband's had his picture on it and the doctor's signature. If I remember correctly it was a greenish form.

I'm sorry for the hold-up! I wish they would've just called you and you could have couriered the medical to them next day!

But the medical office didn't give us a receipt, only a photocopy of a letter stating that my husband was checked in that office. urrrghhh. crap.

yeah, they should have called me. :'(

One more thing: Are they gonna send the whole application to me or just a letter requesting for additionals?

I called cpc-M my sponsorship was approved on 25 June still can't login to e-cas yet. Now my file was forwarded to Quebec and Buffalo

We have not received the letter notifying the sponsorship part is approved or not, but my husband called CPC-M to ask the status after we checked e-Cas updated last night, the call center didn't give us any reply, she said we 'd better wait for the letter :( but we did not give up. Then, my husband sent the email to the Canadian foreign office in Sydney to ask his sponsorship part/status if it has been approved or not. We have just received the great news by email today, it has been approved! It will take 2-3 weeks to transfer/deliver the PR app to Sydney office. At least we don't have to wait for the letter as we have already been informed from Sydney by email :) That is a relief but the waiting game is still on my part. We hope it is not too long as the processing timeline is quick here (3-9 months). We hope we are lucky to get it done quickly!

I'm astonished that Sydney would tell you that the sponsorship was done. That means that they have your file and I bet (no actual knowledge here) that they are getting ready to start processing it - no way Buffalo is going to tell me anything until they are good and ready! Congrats!
