I think it means she got her sponsorship approval although she hasnt received any email or letter as if not she would not get a Client ID.

Really?? I thought i meant that they started working on my application :O So I'm approved???

Sorry, not to hamper your excitement, are u the sponsor or principal applicant? Usually it would mean the sponsor is approved and principal applicant's in process no? they issue a client id only upon finishing processing the sponsor approval process no? Can you check your status online using your client ID? I really don't intend on giving false info, just my understanding of the process but I really do hope it does mean the sponsor is approved. Perhaps the senior can clarify this

Actually it only means that they started reviewing your application. In no way it means the the sponsorship is approved. I already have a client ID from previous dealing with the CIC.

I agree. Sorry to say that getting a Client ID is by no means a guarantee that you gotten approval, but I have no reason to doubt that you'll get it

It's just that the actual approval may not happen yet. Just keep your eyes open on your email, Mel. Or keep trying calling and getting a more straight answer from them, if that is even possible with CIC

Im the one sponsoring my hubby Ya I thought it was they just started my application. I called again yesterday and she said they dont email people and she didnt know what I was talking about. I think they all need to have a meeting! So atleast when they feed you BS its the same BS

YAY I can actually log on the site now it says:

We received your application to sponsor Josh R on July 5, 2011.

We started processing your application on September 6, 2011.

Woot hopefully not too long now
