I'm just wondering if anyone else who is apart from their SO writes letters or cards to them by snail mail? I think writing love letters is such a lost art, no one does it anymore. A couple weeks ago, I found these really pretty peacock notecards at pier1 imports on sale, and I've written my partner letters a couple times. He loves the surprise. It seems like getting personal mail is such a treat now, haha.

Does anyone else do this?

Most definitely!! I'm one of the lucky ones on here: I'm actually living with my partner in Canada (as a visitor, now my work permit has expired) while we're processing outland. But we were long distance for over a year at the beginning, as I was living in England and he was in Canada. Nothing beats seeing an airmail sticker on a handwritten envelope when you get home!

For valentine's day, he wrote me such a funny poem - I still remember first reading it 2 years later! I used to travel a lot with work, so I'd pick up postcards and send them. Sometimes, I barely wrote anything, just printed out a fun photo that I knew would make him smile and stuck that on the back. Even though mail took up to 2 weeks to arrive and we emailed every day and skyped at least once a week, it added something to our relationship: knowing that it was on the way and that it would make him smile is a great feeling. Everyone should do it!

It's like getting flowers delivered too... x

P.S. I've found a good song to listen to at the moment, which picks me up: 'For Now' from the Avenue Q musical! It's emphasises that all our situations are just temporary - an important thing to remember if you want to keep your sanity! If you've never listened to it, try it and let me know what you think...

....now i feel like a romantic outcast ???
well, at least i like flowers..haha ;)

Another great long distance song for all those in different time zones from their partners, Jetlag by Simple Plan is a good one. And I'm so glad their are such romantics out there! Haha.

MandyUK, I hope your husband feels better soon!

You guys!!! It seems I'm one of very few males around here?

My wife and I have the sort of relationship which our togetherness comes first. Jobs? Money? None of that is worth being apart for.
I don't know how you guys can do it! I can only imagine your pain.
We had to do 2 weeks once and that was hard as he**.

Come on CIC!!!

well for the last 3 days i have had a dream that I get my PPR on 22nd September lol, probably (and most liely) wishful thinking but heh have to hope :P

Haha, omg, I totally had a dream the other night that I got sponsorship approval!! I wish, haah. That is the part I'm most worried about, since I didn't submit an option C...Even though I submitted lots more stuff instead, and I know they could request it, which is fine, because it's available now. But yeah. wow. haha, one track mind!
