......i dont understand why does it take so looong :'(

According to CIC's statistics, there is a backlog of more than 500,000 PR applications in their inventory as of March 2011, including applications filed under the Family Class (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/statistics/data-release/2011-Q1/index.asp).

so obviously they got a major workload ahead of them, add to that the nature of the cases themselves, some may be complicated to evaluate. So we're in it for the long run, but i'm praying that they move faster. I wonder if they'd hire more staff to review the cases, seeing that the backlog is big.

We must not forget that we had a postal strike in Ottawa also and that could be the reason to for the longer days posted.

Woohoo! I saw it jump from June 7th to the June 9th! Slowly but surely!

Always look on the bright side, eh Mel_R? ;)

Page 4 of the June guys has there spreadsheet link in, they are looking around 40 days from receiving to approval, maybe we could volunteer to go and work for them as skilled migrants to speed up the process.

46 days isnt too bad i guess! No more than that though please Mississuaga, I'm cutting it fine on getting pr before my work permit runs out as is!! lol I'm applying for an extension that should keeep me implied untill I'm landed (I hope)
Here's to all the visa offices suddenly moving quick fast and definately to London keeping up an average of 116 days!

London's average is 116 days?? That would be amazing! And, if that's the average, it means about half are getting it quicker. That would make me a happy happy bunny! Now it's just a case of getting through CIC-M first! From reading these threads though, it seems that what's posted online from CIC isn't necessarily that accurate though - maybe they're further on than they say (crossed fingers!)

Big hugs to all July people, it's a tough adjustment, eh? x

Hello everyone!

I'm from the May thread and I just wanted to let you know that if you haven't heard in the stated time on the CIC website, to not worry. I'm on day 73 and haven't heard a thing yet, and my case isn't uncommon. In a nutshell, immigration aren't as efficient as they make out. There is a backlog. My application was received on May 16th but no one picked it up to start working on it until June 29th. It's a real piss off, but you learn to be patient. Just don't get disheartened if you haven't heard in the stated time, they will get to your application and you will hear something.

Hi all,

I sent my application on July.11/2011. My husband is in U.S.A.
Please add myself to the sheet.

Thanks

thanks for the words of encouragement, BB. and sorry to hear about your situation. It's unbelievable they missed looking at your file in due time. The least they could do now is to smash on the pedal to make up for the long wait!!

anyways, hugs back to you all and keep that patience running LoL!

By the way, is July 11 the date you shipped your application or is that when it was received at CPC-M?

Well if you check out pinkladys spreadsheet for the London applications that's the current average, the majority of the people since last summer seem to be getting them in around 100 days or so which is awesome... just as long as it doesn't slow down!

I'm definately a glass half full kinda gal though ;)

London, Berlin and Beijing are probably the fastest offices, along with ND.
