Yes of curse, all countries that you had live more that 6 months, including Canada.

Thank you, arcuva

However, I heard that if I lived in Canada for more than six months then, the Canadian embassy will check my criminal check by themselves.
So, I do not have to check it for myself. Did I know wrong?

Victory!

You are correct, RCMP police checks in Canada you are not to obtain unless the visa office specifically requests it. They do their own check, and will only request it if there criminals with the same name as you.

Everyone still quiet?
I got a letter asking me to get further medical bits n bobs done, yesterday. So now have to call up the visa doctor tomorrow. I just hope this wont hold up everything too much. On the plus side the letter came from within the UK so i know everything arrived there safely :) (Always look on the bright side and all that!)

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got 2 letters this week.

First one was from Canada Embassy in Canada saying I have been approved for sponsor and that my file has been forwarded to Seoul.

Second one was from Emabassy in Seoul saying they received my file and to not call or enquire about my status.

How is everyone else progressing along?

Congratulation, burton1j.
I'm in Seoul too, and I got it from embassy too.
It seems that we will get another mail in a month in Seoul whether embassy asks us more documents or interview, or passport....Just a month.

I don't want to generalize it but through other people's experience in Korea, if we get a mail before a month, then we will get accepted but if it takes more than a month, then they will ask us more documents. Hopefully we get mails before a month.

Good luck!

Hey all... Just a little Tid-Bit of information for anyone trying to Log in to Ecas. I have been trying for weeks now to try and log in, but for some reason i couldnt. So i checked my original Visitor Record, and i says my place of Birth was England. Now, i was born in the UK, but im from Norhern Ireland. So for the longest time i was putting the correct details in and these were apparently wrong. Just check all your docuements, you might find something there. Its these little mistakes that i have no control over that is getting my back up.

To those of you who are in Seoul...

Can I ask how long it took from when the CPC-M received your application to receiving the decision letter? And did you send your application from Korea or are you (the sponsor) based in Canada?

We sent ours from Korea on Feb 9th and after tracking it all the way to Canada, they received it on Feb 12th. And that's it. We've heard nothing since.

Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

Hi camarsden,

Do you have CIC receipt? When you check your status online, they said nothing?
I sent my application on Feb 17th. They got my stuff on 18th.
They started processing my documents on Mar 15th and made the decision of sponsor on the same day.
It was available to see my status online 17th of Mar.
However, they picked up my bf's parents address in Canada to mail, not to Korea.

My bf's parents got the mail from Missausaga on Mar. 22nd(Canadian time) and I got a mail from Canadian embassy on Mar 29th. The mail from Missausaga said almost nothing, it basically said my partner can be a sponsor. That's all i heard from his parents. The letter from embassy said they started my documents on 23rd, Mar and sent me the file number.

I can suggest you a couple of things.

1. Keep checking your status online with CIC receipt.
2. You can cahnge your address online if they accept your girlfriend as a sponsor.
3. Although it doesn't happen anything yet, be positive because I found many things strange, such as somebody got accept sponsorship in Canada earlier than other people but sometimes, some of them finally got the permission stamp on their passports in their country much later than other people who got the result of sponsorship later from Canada. Of course, it doesn't happen to everybody, I just mean that you will be ok!
