Finally got my passport back in the mail with the entrance visa and all and, since I am Vancouver right now, decided to do the flagpole procedure. So, after a fairly amusing (actually, hilarious, but that's another story) experience jogging back and forth between the US and Canadian border with my (poor) wife, I've finally landed. Got my SIN nr today, bank account tomorrow! Finally... what a relief. I hope for all the best for those of you still waiting. It'll happen sooner or later.

Either apply to become a citizen in 3 years time or continue as a PR. But I wonder what the process for that is. Hopefully nothing as difficult as getting PR for the first time. Your next thing to stress about is 'Where's my PR card, is it lost? What if someones taken it?! I've been doing that since July, and i'm checking the mail compulsively every few hours until it comes, then am hopelessly dissapointed whenever an official looking letter turns out to be for my mother in law! Seems easier to just take a citizenship test and save yourself the money. Deff for me since i'm only 20 right now, so thats a lot of money gone by the time i'm 70!
