Methinks we need a *Surviving Immigration With Junk Food* thread.

My waistline would not appreciate it though. 8)

At the start of the process when you say, "this thing is bigger than both of us" - you mean the application package...

At the end of the process when you say, "this thing is bigger than both of us" - you mean your waistline...
;D ;D

Just got my shiney new Initial Assessment. :) Couldn't be a happier immigrant girl if I tried. No interview at this time, no additional documents, no additional fees, medical has been received. Letter dated March 22, 2011.

YAY!!!

I'm going to go buy me a lemonade Rockstar to celebrate. 8)

CONGRATULATIONS MY FRIEND!!!! I AM THRILLED FOR YOU!!

WE WILL CELEBRATE IN PERSON ONE OF THESE DAYS SOON!

@ Baloo - haha You are sooo right. I've stopped counting the number of pounds I've gained since the start of all of this. :P

@ janamay - Thank you! I hope this means that Buffalo is busily working and making progress for all of us. :)

Great News my December Peeps,

My husband had his interview today in India (I am there now with him) and he was arrpoved for his visa. It will come by mail in 10 days. Thanks to everyone for the support in the beginning steps. Good luck to everyone still waiting. :) Cheers!!!

Hi everyone,

Am very pleased to report that I got my Passport Request e-mail from the London office this morning; I thought I'd have to wait much longer than I have but it all seems to have gone through relatively quickly.

Best of luck to all those in the December group...especially those going through Buffalo!

Regards,

Derwig :)

Has anybody heard anything today???

@ nylalisa - Congrats! That is excellent news. I was hoping that your husbands interview would go well. When will he be landing?

@ derwig - Congrats to you too! That's most of our London group through. I believe we have two more waiting for PPRs. When are you landing?

@ the Buffalo Group - No, no news today. I wonder what has slowed them down?

Many thanks for the messages of congratulation ! :)

I'm officially landing with my wife (who's Canadian) on 21st June @ Toronto Pearson, but I will then be returning to the UK after a couple of weeks to start the process of selling the flat, and organising the removals etc...it all really depends on how things go with trying to find work in Canada as I work in a fairly specialised field...but hopefully it will all come together.

I'm sure it will be exciting, but frustrating at times :)!

Hopefully the December group will all see some real progress over the next few weeks.

Best wishes,

Derwig

Congrads quakingaspen!!!!

I'm very happy for you. Thanks for all your work in creating the spreadsheet and your constant encouragement.

Did your Initial Assessment say that your medicals were received, or that they had confirmation of your medicals were completed? I noticed on our Initial Assessment said something to the effect that they had confirmation that the medicals were done, and this information would be forwarded to their office and no further action was required. To me, that sounds like it's still in Ottawa or en route to Buffalo???

Thanks, Cindy. :) I was thinking about you guys and wondering how things were going.

Our IA has the box for "We have received the results of your medical examination" checked. I would guess that you're right and your results are probably on their way to Buffalo.
