yeah i haven't received the letter yet either!

Hi everybody. I hope everybody is in good health and patiently waiting for updates. I just wanted to let you people know that I've got AOR few days back. The date on the letter was February 16, 2011.

Although on ECAS date of receiving of application was 28th January 2011, but in this letter Sydney visa office has advised that application was received by their office on 07/02/2011.

Take good care of yourselves.

Congrats to those of you who have received your AOR's. :) I've updated your information on our spreadsheet.

I wish our Buffalo group would hear something. I tossed and turned all last night, and when I did sleep I had dreams about CIC and Immigration. @.@ I had hoped to hear something today since Tuesday is usually the biggest eCAS update day... but nothing. Disappointing.

Oh! It's both so disappointing but also relieving to see that we are not the only ones to receive no word from Buffalo. I haven't been able to check our status since late January because...

I'm in Toronto! We moved me back across in the last weekend in Jan and requested a visitor record at the border. We had to hold our breath for a while, but they let me in. Hubby also got a new apartment much closer to work to save hours on daily commute, and our internet took until today to be installed. Bell Canada is apparently very very busy these days.

Anyway, when I logged on to ecas, I was so crushed to see no change in status, but I guess it's more the Buffalo office than our specific application. This whole waiting business is no fun, but at least now we can wait together. I'm sending cheering vibes to all!

Come on Buffalo!! ;)

Has all of the November applicants heard from Buffalo yet or are we still waiting for some of them to hear something as well?

All of November's Buffalo people have their AOR's. According to their time line, Kaz, Cindy, and I should have heard by now. You should be hearing today-ish. Not sure what their delay is, but they're obviously running a little slower than they were a few weeks ago.

The last Buffalo person in September received their PPR, though, so that's good news. They made it through in about 4.5 months. :)

Surprisingly some people in September had their PPR in 2 months from the day they sent their application !! Which is amazing...
I wonder why they had to slow down NOW :(

Do you guys think calling CIC would help ?

I already emailed buffalo inquiry to know the status of my file, though I have no hopes to hear back from them!

hehe I was thinking of doing a status inquiry yesterday, so I was looking around their site. My favorite part was when they said:

"You will be sent a letter showing your file number and outlining the next steps in processing within 20 weeks of the date of your application's receipt at this office.

Please do not contact us during this period - except to notify us if there is a change in your mailing address or if you decide to withdraw your application."

Most of the applications I've seen so far have made it to a PPR within 20 weeks of arriving in Buffalo, so what this amounts to is - Don't call us, we'll call you.

It then gives you a link to look at the processing times for the various Visa Offices, which is a month past when it should have been updated.

Just another example of their superb customer service.

They also had Monday off for Flag Day, so that may have slowed them down, again.

PS - The spreadsheet is really looking great. :) You do good work! I can't wait to be yellow. ;)

Oh wow...hehe definitely a superb customer service ! :P

Yes, I was just thinking, Monday was another STAT holiday...so there we go..!! :P

Thank you :) I thought of doing the color coding to make it look a lil interesting :P I hate ORANGE :( lol. But it makes me feel better not being a red ! ;)

We received our Passport request today !

I am happy to say that we received our Passport request (Appendix A)today.

The letter we received, was dated Feb 11, 2011.

We also received a request to send several documents that were already included in our original application. This does not make much sense, but we decided it would be "easier" to just re-send the documents, versus trying to explain that they already have them ...

Soon now, I hope .... :)

Best of luck, to all of our December friends

hey americans applicant just a thought..wouldn't it be a good idea to get a NEXUS card, so you can go back and forth between canada and usa?

Nexus is mainly for business people or driver's etc who cross the border either daily or a few times a week. I guess you could get one, but the process is really a pain in the butt, just like doing these PR applications and waiting. You get interviewed and stuff and you have to go through very heavy security checks.. etc etc.

We sent our PP to ND on Jan 15.it's been 6 weeks...no news...

Hey ! Yes, NEXUS is a great option and I have it. I live very close to the border while my husband lives very close to the other side of the border :P LOL. So I pretty much cross the border every weekend, and it's so convenient.
As far as the application procedure is concerned, it is not at all difficult, definitely not like this immigration process. It's a simple application that you send, they do the security check on their own, and just call you for an interview. That interview is not really an interview , they just verify your records and basically explain you the border crossing rules etc and then just approve you for NEXUS. It was very simple, and is definitely useful. I could have lived with my husband in states, but I don't want to cross the border every day to come to work in Canada, but still, on weekends, with the long line ups at the border on Fridays, NEXUS really comes in handy :)
