No, I haven't heard anything yet. My eCAS still isn't working, and nothing in the mail. However, I haven't called to check with them. Hopefully I'll hear in a day or two. :)

Anxiously waiting for my letter still... :) On the other hand, i am sooo happy that december is moving forward in the first stages of approval, very exciting... then we can all start being nervous on our respective VO threads for second stage...lol. Also good luck to everyone who is waiting, they really seem to be working faster now that the holidays are over. I expect to see a significant drop in the number of days people are waiting for this first stage...

Quakingaspen, why is it you say your e-cas isn't working? You definetely should be at least getting a letter in the mail this week I am sure.

hehe I'm not sure what's up with it. I checked it again about an hour ago... and then asked my husband to make sure I had his birthday right. I did... still no updates! But hopefully soon. :)

However, in preparation of the quarterly update of the Visa Office timelines, I put together this information. It is accurate as of October 22, 2010. It's not the new list, so don't get too excited! But I thought it was interesting to compare the timelines of the different offices. These are the offices we have people in the December thread going through. 80% of applications will be processed in these offices within the noted number of months.

VO 10/22/2010
Beijing 4
Buffalo 11
Colombo 17
Guatemala 18
Inland 9 (after an 8-9 month wait for Sponsorship approval)
London 9
Manila 9
New Delhi 6
Paris 9
Singapore 18
Sydney 8
Vienna 9
Warsaw 7

Hi,
am happy now. My wife just called CIC-M and they told her that she was approved with Jan. 10th and the file is going to VO Vienna.
Now just waiting for the actual letter which was sent to us.
Really excited now and am sure there is some movement in the sponsorship confirmations for you guys as well. Just eCas is very slow and not updated yet - I still cant login with my MM5401 (Receipt number)

Just tried to login with the clientID my wife got from the callcenter and its working. Says the same: received Dec 6th and letter was sent Jan 10th.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful wishes.

Sounds like things on the December board are well on it's way. I'm hoping a decision on sponsorship was made for us last week (based on some of the others being approved last week). So I shall be stalking the postman for the next week :) My experience with sending mail to my family in Canada is that it takes 1 to two weeks, usually it's a week...so here's hoping Friday will be another good day.

I'm so excited for everyone ;D

Hey guys...I just need some help please...

I just wanted to know if it would be okay for me as a sponsor to move after my sponsorship is approved. While my husband's application would be in progress, can I change my address and send it to CIC to update? I hope that would not slow down the process or have any negative impact for that matter. I would still be living in Canada, but just a change in address?

Thanks

Hm. Just going to share this with you guys. I just called the CIC Call Center at 1-888-242‑2100 to check on the status of my application. He said that because my application was received in December it certainly hasn't been processed yet. They're working on November 29th applications only. He assured me that they hadn't even opened mine since it was received at the start of December.

...I didn't bother to argue with him, because clearly his information is not up to date. :P I just wanted to mention it to you guys in case you have a similar experience. Apparently, the folks at the CIC Call Center are using the information from the Processing Times: Family Class page.

Now, is there a number for CIC-M that might be better informed? :)

Sounds to me that you got a lazy clerk!!!! Others have called the call centre an got an update because E-cas was not working... BS... I would call back and tell them to look you up, tell them you can also check out of date info from your computer, but you want them to
check the system you can't. My thinking is that if theres no update either it's sitting in a mailroom or they should no it was sent back due to something missing. They are way pass November 29th files. Im predicting something like Jan 10th by now!!!

hehe I think I did get a lazy clerk! And we all know they're way past November 29th. I'm watching for today's update on the Processing Times page... And the mail man. ;) Hopefully he'll have good (and accurate!) news.

I guess nobody knows what slows them down and what does not. There is an option on CIC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp to change your address online or by phone.
I don't think it would be an issue, but, again, who knows how it will affect your application. :)

Letter in my mail today! My application sent to VO in Warsaw!
Sorry quakingaspen that you haven't heard anything from them yet and CIC call center seems to be very lazy :)

Patience for those who wait news from CIC and for me now would be long 7month waiting too :)

Congrats, Maja! I hope that your application goes through the VO quickly. I think the next milestone for you guys is the "In Progress" step.

Im still waiting for the letter, Im really shocked it hasnt come.

@sparkle:
I dont think there is a reason that an adress change would slow down the process.
My wife is doing an adress change as well since she is moving back to Canada from the US.

@quakingaspen:
We had a customer rep on the phone today which told us the same but then he said he will doublecheck and did a search on his computer. Result was the clientID and the sponsorhip confirmation.
I would call again and ask if they kindly could do a check under the sponsors name...

Thanks. What does it mean AOR in your List? I know it stands for Appoval of receipt or smth but is it after first stage or second?

Do you think that timeline for 2nd stage approval in VO is exact? I mean does it really take 7month for warsaw or 11month Buffalo? I remeber seeing somewhere in the forum that applications in Buffalo were approved in 4month...I just secretly home that it wont take 7month ::) ???
