Hi guys! Here's our weekly update. Missinghim has her Sponsorship approval this week. Her process is a little different because she had most of her sponsorship approval before but needed to send in a form to complete it. Rathika has reported that their sponsorship application is in process. That'll be the first one from December with no previous work done on it. Congrats to you both!

And that means the rest of us are a lot closer. :) The next week should have several more updates to report.

Hi ! I am joining the Thread a little late...

My application was received at the Mississauga on December 13th (Fedex tracking).
I am a canadian citizen sponsoring my spouse who is Russian and the whole family is living in the US (California) -> Visa Office will be Buffalo.
I am worried about a couple things:

1- I still cannot see any record of the application on eCan using my internet receipt number (after about a month)

2- Not being resident in canada means i was supposed to provide proof the i will move to Canada once my wife receives her PR. Now that is a well known chicken and egg problem: cannot commit to a job, sign for an apartment lease anything before knowing how long the application will take to complete... etc.. i was also reluctant to ask friends to declare the could shelter us. All i could do is write and sign a letter of commitment from me stating i will move back to the declared location (Vancouver) with a couple months after my wife receives her PR.
Any input if that has any chances to be enough of should i definitely expect some painful delays ?

3- I just received that last police records that were missing (i had mentioned i would send those later). According to CIC website my application should be looked at in a couple weeks. Can i take a chance to FedEx those documents now to Mississauga or should i wait for our files to be transferred to Buffalo ?

Thank you for any help / experience that any of you can bring.

Romain

Welcome to the forums but you forgot to tell Quakingaspen what Visa Office you will be going through.

@ Romain - Welcome to the December forum! I've added you to our list. :) A few thoughts on your questions:

1) Don't worry that you haven't heard anything yet, or that you aren't showing up in eCAS yet. We're expecting that the people whose applications were received at the start of December (whitehorsejk, Rathika, nylalisa, and Kulilit) will have theirs processed this week, and receive their letters shortly after. So, since yours was received in the middle of December it should be another week or so for you.

I'm not sure how often they update eCAS. Officially they say they update it once a week, but people have received updates from it more often than that. Earlier in the forum someone posted this link: https://ecas.carroll.org.uk/ which you can use to automatically check yours. If there's an update, it will send you an e-mail to let you know.

2) I'm sorry, I really don't have any experience with that. That might be a good guestion to ask in the main forum, as a wider range of people read through there, and they will probably have some great insight for you.

3) I'd advise waiting until you receive a decision about your sponsorship and have a case number. That way you can add that extra identifying information when you mail it in, and hopefully decrease the risk of having them get lost. Maybe someone else has some more experience with that as well.

@ derwig - Welcome to the December forums! I've added you to our list as well. There are two other members of our forum going through the London Visa Office (MandP and whitehorsejk). Hopefully you can all help each other out, and keep each other notified about your progress. (And keep the rest of us informed as well, of course!) :)

Hey Quakingaspen,

Well I just wanted to say thanks for all the work you are doing. It's great you are keeping a list for all of us, like they are doing on other threads but what I find really great is you are taking that extra step and referring us to other thread members going through the same VO. :) Keep up the great work.....

Ok kids,

The games have just begun, guess who's E-Cas has been updated... :) So it says a decision has been made and that my letter was sent out on the 6th. Given that I am in Ontario, I suspect that I should get the letter Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully nothing went terribly wrong and it's positive for sponsorship. You just never know with CIC!!! Now I am even more nervous...LOL!!!!

Oh, Nylalisa! That's great news! Congrats! Oo... now I'm so excited. I've got to go check my eCas too. I'm a few days behind you, but it's never too early to be obsessed. Congrats!! :)

And thank you for the kind words. I appreciate them very much. I'm glad if I can help make it a little easier for anyone... and helping keep track of all this makes me feel like I'm doing something productive.

Good luck everyone! We should have a lot more updates from now on. (And congrats again Nylalisa. :))

Congrats Nylaslisa! We r so close..its great as we r going thru same VO. i hope we have similar time lines moving forward too. It seems in the ND thread 2010 - the ppl whose file was sent to VO close to eachother also got their PPR at similar times too.
Dont worry - as u advised me ...Worrying will just make the wait feel longer. U will get ur letter soon no doubt n it will b positive. =)
If something was missing like in my case then CIC Mississauga would have sent ur appli bk already like they did w/ me. I got it back less than 1 mth after sending it asking for that missing signature and was asked to resubmit it. Its been more than 1 mth for u n u have reached the standard processing time too..Well done! Good luck moving forward.
