Hi guys! Quick update for you. The Processing Times: Family Sponsorship page has been updated. As of December 29, 2010 (yesterday) they're working on applications received on November 25. Looks like the holidays have slowed them down a little... My best guess is they'll start to get to us around January 10.
 
And, for good measure, I'm going to post this now before I get wrapped up in things and forget to do it tomorrow! I've reorganized it based on the Visa Office you're going through, so you can compare your progress to others from the same office (if there are any others).

The only reason i had to submit my application to a specific officer in mississauga was because it was my 2nd time sending it in. My husband who i am sponsoring didnt sign additional family information form and my application was sent back to me, minus the money. i waited for my husband to send a new form filled out with his signature and when i got it in the mail i resubmitted my application to mississauga. The immigration officer who received it first time asked for it to be sent to his attention, he included a self addressed sticker w/ his name n mississauga case processing centre on it to put on my envelope when im ready to send application bk. Hope this explains my situation. Thanks! Lets hope we all get our cases processed here in mississauga soon, I cant listen or watch any movie with love songs or couple etc...good luck to all of us=)

I am new to this forum but have found it amazingly helpful.

Anyways, here is my info, as I guess I am a part of this December thread.

Family Class sponsorship of my husband. We are applying through New Delhi. Application sent December 1st, 2010 and apparently received according to Canada Post on December 2nd, 2010, at CPC-M.

No news besides that. Congrats to everyone who has submitted the application and here's to good news to all coming soon, hopefully.

Hi Nylalisa! Welcome to the December thread. You are the second person we have going through the New Delhi office this month... so hopefully you two can give each other helpful information! :)

I've added you to our list. Keep us updated. I think we're all getting excited to receive Sponsorship decisions soon.

This definitely makes it clear...LOL...Thank you, I was just worried all of a sudden that did we have to address it to someone in particular !?

Hey guys,

Was just wondering...my husband has a visitor visa for canada...and while our file has been sent, can he cross the border now easily just to visit me. He lives 1 hour away from me, and usually i drive to US on weekends, I was wondering if its okay for him to drive down this weekend? He has friends in Canada as well, so should he say he is coming to visit me or his friends??
 
Hi Sparkle, i dont see why not... he will b coming in legally w/ a visitors visa & its only for 1 wkend so he shouldnt miss any important correspondence frm embssy n thats if ur file has reached the embassy already. If u r just waiting for it to clear in mississauga then u should b alright. 1 wkend is harmless. If i was you i would keep receipts, take pics of this visit too even tho u sent in file already because in case they call him in for interview or ask for additional proof this is more proof. You never know what they'll want.
 
Sparkle: I just saw ur last question....thats a hard one - if he already has it then risk thathe wont b allowed to enter is less. But then u never know they could still stop him....lets see what the others say..i would say both friends and u..but he could emphasise the friends part.

Nylalisa: Im also sponsoring my hubby through New Delhi. As of current i believe our file is still in mississauga. Just checked ecas and nnothing as well as called the call centre..listened to recording msg. No update how sad. Still early considering the holidays just passed tho and they r on a holdiay today the processing centre in Mississauga.
