Average days according to people in this thread for 1st stage DM is 34 days.
Inland applications takes 8-9 months for 1st stage DM.

This is not updated chart?....it's just copied from previous one. many people got they In process already
 
Vietcutieboy is mostly concerned with the sponsorship stage of the process, so I'm sure that aspect of the chart is completely correct. I'm taking note of those who have received their in process. It's an exciting week for a lot of people. :)

I just called CIC and I got a grouchy person, they said that my application was opened as of yesterday 25/01/11 no other info (is that a bad sign?) and said I should wait another 2-3 weeks for a reply. I really hope all goes well. What do I do now? I really need to go back to Vietnam ASAP. Should I just go book my ticket now?
 
i dont think its a bad sign. ur lucky they told u they opened it n u didsay person was grouchy..u could call back tomorrow n another person will take ur call..see if they have more info...r u pass the standard processing days? if not then dont worry ..maybe thats all the info they have.
 
I just called CIC, and they told me that they've sent me a letter on January 25th with the initial decision made and the following instructions, so I should be receiving it in mail pretty soon !!! Yayyy....does that mean the sponsorship has been approved ?
Due to christmas my file reached Dec 29th, although I had mailed it on Dec 23rd.

So, vietcutieboy, I guess you must receive the letter pretty soon too, or you can try calling again, you might get a nicer consultant.

@ sparkle, grats on the early DM. Can't believe how they say on the website they are working on applications recieved on the 22 but they worked on yours which is the 29th and mines is the 24th and I have 2 different stories from 2 different agents with no DM.
 
Did you track the application when you sent it? Do you have proof of delivery?
 
@ pinklady, yes I have all that info through canadapost, they confirmed a sucessful delivery and CIC recieved it on the 24th as canadapost says on their site.

I wonder how gally and derwig's applications is going.

I don't think the update on CIC is very accurate, we've seen it fluctuating by a day or two. My file was delivered on Dec 29, as the system says, but I believe they were closed from Dec 24 to Dec 28, so maybe your file could have been opened with mine. I don't think you need to worry, check back with them tomorrow. Also, I would suggest you tell them that you file reached before Dec 22, that way they check about your file with interest. I told the guy on phone that mien reached around Dec 21, and your system says working on Dec 22 file, so would you have an update for me? Thats when he started digging up, and put me on hold to check if they've mailed me anything.

Don't worry...you should be fine...I would suggest calling back tomorrow morning and checking with them. And yes, definitely check if your file was actually delivered on Dec 24th with the help of the postal tracking.
 
I agree with sparkle, try not to worry (easier said than done!) and call back again tomorrow.
If it was delivered, then they have it.
I really hope you hear good news soon!
 
@ pinklady and sparkle, thanks for the assuring words guys. I really hope all will go well because I really need this DM so I can go back to Vietnam to visit my wife and my son for the first time since he was born and have no worries. I can't live like this no more, I am going crazy.

Hey sparkle, did you say CIC told you a decision was made on your sponsorship? That is great! Congrats! I sent my wife's app along with my sponsorship app on January 13th and I was just snooping the december board to see how Buffalo people were doing..lol..Again Congrats
