Visitor visa and study visa are not linked to Spouse PR. They are different processes. They will just look at the history that's it. They don't do interviews for that. Even my wife's visitor visa was not approved for reasons you mentioned.

Background checks and medicals are internal processes and they don't talk to candidates regarding that. They will just decline if they find something questionable and you have to appeal.

Mostly interviews are conducted to check the genuineness of the marriage.

i had study visa refusal as well as visitor visa refusal before marriage to Canada. Reason for refusal was that i will not return back.
My question is that can they conduct interview because of previous visa refusal or they conduct interview to check if marriage is genuine or not?
Can the interview be conducted due to back ground check or medicals or pcc?
I have observed that they conduct interview mostly for genuine marriage check.
Please comment on what you guys say?

As a PR i think this is a risky risk to take...go there and stay in India until she gets a Visa.
However, i do not have more input on this and i want to hear from all the senior's here especially nylalisa abt this situation.

Can the sponsor stay in India when the applicant's file is in process.................................( someone told me min of 4 weeks is ok )

I hope we don't have to go deep in this discussion, and I hope it only applies to a PR, and not a Canadian Citizen.

Hi All,

A small update.I went to CHC ND today and enquired about my case.The person first asked me whether I had sent an email/fax and if I have received any reply.I told him that I had raised a CSE but did nt receive any reply.

Then he looked into my case and said that they have received everything that they wanted (PP,PCC,fees etc) and they do nt need any additional docs.He said that my case is clear/ok and it is just pending for final review.He added that it usually takes 4-6 months but in your case we do nt want to push it into 6th month as the case is clear and you can expect your PP with visa in 7-10 days.

I think all they wanted was a wake up call.

I just hope that it comes within 10 days.

I have read cases where the sponsor was a citizen/PR and visa was rejecting stating the fact that sponsor did not provide proper proof of residence or intent to move back to Canada.

Why they do this is cos..fraud sponsorship...Sponsor has moved back to India but hes sponsoring his wife to Canada...
Then sponsor others after divorce blah blah..
Think this is why they do it.

Yes you are right FPrince, max time spent out of Canada ahould be 4 weeks if you are a PR. A PR is suppose to be present in Canada for the duration of the process except for short trips. You can find plenty of examples all over the forum if cases where the visa was refused because the sponsor as a PR was outside the country "too long" even though with the spouse being sponsored.
