That's my issue with this place, they do not follow a uniformed process. It's whilly nilly there. I understand that some cases are more complicated then others, but all cases should start off being the same, whatever they decide PPR for all cases that come in, then an initial review etc etc. I dont care how its done, just some uniformity. Also updates would be fabulous. How hard is it to log into a client file and push a button.

If this is a Canadian consulate inside Canada all these complaints would be documented and they would have fixed it..i am sure everyone who applied in ND go through the same thing, no idea how come the Canadian Govt is not hearing this. They should have a shit a lot of complaints ....seperating a new married couple for more than 6 months has its own toll when it comes to resettling, finance, etc etc in the new country..i hope they come up with something like the embassy which handles applicants from china where the cases are decided in 4 months..

Nov 18 2010 - Mailed to Case Processing Centre(CPC) in Mississauga
Dec 18 2010 - Approved by CPC in Mississauga
Dec 22 2010 - Spouse document is received by Canada Embassy - New Delhi
Dec 30 2010 - Passport request Received
As per request the necessary support document is prepared & sent with passport.
Jan 7 2010 - Passport Submitted through BLUE DART courier.
Jan 9 2010 - Passport Received by Canada Embassy - New Delhi
Feb 11 2010 - Lawyer contacted Canada Embassy - New Delhi through email and asked for the status
Feb 17 2010 - Approved confirmation email received by Lawyer

When did you first apply? Sponsorship I mean. Because generally it looks like ND sends out a passport request very early and then you coud wait many months for it, while they review your file and things like this.

Mine has never changed from application received, even though I have had a PPR and docs requested... in that order too. They are weird.

Service Level Agreement

This is generally the timeline they have to meet as per rules/contracts

Ahh ok, well.

I called them a long time back... technically they agree to a 6 month timeline from the time you get approved in CPC-M.

Within the first month after approval they are to do an initial file review, within 2 months of approval you are suppose to be notified of an interview if required. If all goes well they agree that approval for visa should take place in 4 months, and go as long as 6 months for final decision if the case is complicated. (This little caveate is what gives them their out to prolong decisions). How easy is it to say there is a matter with your case that makes it more complicated (ie: foreign travel, differences in age, the list of possibilities is endless because they dont specify). This info is on their website more or less but it is also what they will tell you verbally. So I guess this is their very loose SLA.

Technically, I received doc request within 1 month, which means they did some sort of initial file review or they wouldn't have known that they wanted these extra docs. I am guessing at this point they technically can wait until they receive the extra docs before the start "processing"

Ya that's what is says on their website, you are right it's a very loose SLA which they better edit and make it more robust. It looks its not a SLA it's a leisure statement that they have made which will allow them to rest their Fat A$$e$ on those chairs and suspect the right people and I have seen the people who do fake marriages they get approvals in just 3 months.

i think Visa Officers should be well trained on how to handle the cases efficiently.

May be this Friday they change your ECAS to In Process or even Decision Made Nothing is impossible

At this point, I would just settle with "In Process".

Definetely loose, it ticks me off because they will tell you the same garbage on the phone... And yes, I am tired of hearing about people and fake marriages being approved. I know a few personally. Its disheartening when you then hear that someone has been put through the ringer in an interview and denied (but they had a valid marriage).

I understand the VOs are human and things happend and people lie and get away with it... but honestly you are right, better training needs to be offered. Not just guidelines in their OP manuals.
