True, they did say application accepted, but I will be much happier when we get
visa throught the postal system. Which is now averaging 7 days, for the three
letters that we got so far. Delhi - near Chandigarh.

Here is my timeline..hope it will be helpful

Medicals Done : Dec 2010
Application filed : Feb 8 2011
Received in Mississauga : Feb 10 2011
E-cas was not accessible till March 7 2011
E-Cas changed on 8 March 2011 to decision made (Sponsorship)
21 March 2011 filed received at New Delhi
8 April 2011 PPR letter received(Date on the letter was March 28 2011)
Passport sent on 10 April & was received on 12 April
E-Cas on applicants side changed on 21 April 2011 with address and medical received
27 April Address disappeared in E-cas and re-appeared on 29 April with address,medical received and decision made
Received passport with visa on 3 May 2011.

Yes the dollar is doing really well, this was the rate US$ used to get... I'm glad we beat the US, how do you send the money to india?

The only good thing which has happened to me in a long time is that i need to send money to my wife now and the rate is INR 46.5 ! 8) 8) 8) go CAD$ go...........

wow that is really cheap to send speed post, they have to add this in the LIST which is growing for ND:

Change # 1 Million and 10: From now on use the Speed Post
Change # 1 Million and 11: Keep the applicant/sponsor up to date with eCAS
Change # 1 Million and 12: Once passport is received, update eCAS
Change # 1 Million and 13: Go back to number 1 and do it again, because we failed to make any changes!

To Speed Post a normal letter from ND to ND costs Rs.12/- To other cities, the max is Rs.25/- If you wanted an acknowledged proof of delivery, add another Rs.12/-. So, easily less than $1. They sure can use Speed Post and not Normal Post - it's just that they don't.

You will have your passport with the visa in no time man, I say about 8 more days or so!

I say it will be eCAS this week, and VISA next week...

Now lets see which comes first - a decision made update on ecas or visa from IPS

I heard they send the passport through the registered mail, so it should be given priority, unless IPS has no proper procedure in place for such type of mail. I know there are lazy postman, hence we give them few hundred rupees so they can provide exlusive service, also it has become a habit of many in india about the little bribe, you will find few who are very good at NOT taking anything, and just doing their job how it should be done. And there are those who EXPECTS something in return from PUBLIC as well as their monthly pay.

If our police is like that then what can we say about other people who take rishwat for little other things they do...

The only way india can be #1 is if we have an upright ruler, who is HONEST, and the whole system of BRIBE just disappear, else the poor will always lose!

I may sound harsh, but I don't mean to attack anyone personally, just saying what I have observed.

True. But there is always that little bit of doubt that always seem to get us.
From other cases I studied, I just went over the spreadsheet. Most people
that went throught the interview got it in about a month afterwards. Not sure
if that was ND taking a long time or IPS.
