Since we don't want all the documents and my wife's Passport to be sitting in India Post mailrooms for long time, we will gather all the documents, etc. over the long weekend and Speed Post it on Monday. As my wife is in Delhi :D, CIC ND should get it by Tue, or Wed at the latest.

@ drdave - What's your prediction on the PPT being returned to her with the Visa if ND gets it by Apr 27th?

Using Fedex (4days) it can cost 80-100$ from Toronto-India

Thanks to you, since i can see this...chances are they might ask me as well
So am gonna send my T4,Bank statement,Pay stub for April on Monday by regular Canadian Post..and it only takes 5-10 days to reach India..
Even though they say regular can take upto 4 weeks all my regular posts have reached India within 2 weeks and it can cost me around $3 LOL

Thanks avibis for this timeley info. You saved me 3 cases of BEER :P

@avibis

congrats for PPR!!

It looks like your bring forward date is 27 May (45 days from 12th April)

@fprince

I suggest you can send scanned documents to your wife and she can print & send it to ND. It will be faster and economical. You dont need to send ND originals

you saved me 2 more bottles :-)

I shall say now your case is almost done coz usually VO ask for canadian residence proofs at the end of the process.

If they are not fixed with this Bring Forward date of 27th May, I guess ND will issue you visa very fast....may be right away after receiving PP and documents from you....

All the best!!

@ fprince, gagansingh, DNT2003

Thanks guys. It certainly feels very exciting.

Yes, I'm planning on sending them all they have asked for and more - they will get a bunch of documents ;D I got my wife to scan and email me the letter and they have an odd list of documents for proof of residency...and it's almost written in a way assuming I do not currently reside in Canada!!! Something else that is odd is how the requirements are written; you would think VOs at a Canadian Embassy will know how to write a letter professionally ::) I will create another post with what is in the letter.

Now that we have the file number, I'm also thinking I will send them some proof of continued contact after my return to Canada, i.e. phone bills, money transfer receipts, photos of her attending one of my relative's wedding, etc. Hoping that way she does not get called for an interview.

all the best and good luck :)

@DNT 2003,

Thanx for adding me. I hope something seriously starts happening now...

@avibis
Congrats..!!! That's good news!

Is it usual for them them to ask for proof of residency?Qonder if anyone else had the same req... I would think u would have attached employment letter and option C with ur application...hmmmm....do u think there is a reason why they asked u for this?
ND keeps surprising us!!!

Excellent point - As a PR(sponsor) you have to show them that you will live in Canada..hence these doc request.

Question to clarify my point..as usually when a sponsor is employed, it's hard to go to india get married and spend more than 2-4 weeks ( depends on job )

Charmz - Are you a citizen & how long were you in India for the marriage
Avibis - Are you a citizen & how long were you in India for the marriage

I was there for 4 weeks..when i returned i did send them my letter from employer etc...which along with my Option C was returned with the AOR.
