@ Kuku

Darn, it does say ND..LOL..I'm still nursing a hangover I guess :p

@singhson......
sorry you are wrong................
please have a look at the following link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/resources/manuals/enf/enf27-eng.pdf

check page 56 and 57

it clearly states that if the person has given name and if there is no surname then the visa will have given name put as surname
so for example AMY KAUR is the only given name and there is no surname then the visa and COPR and PR card will have "AMY KAUR" as last name and first name would be blank.

It also states that the name on COPR would be same as that of PR card.

I wanna know how the PR card would have name "AMY KAUR AMY"???

You know what guys, one of our family friends right, their son-in-law got his pr last year and his case was thesame, his name was XYZ Singh but on the inner page of the passport, there was a note stating that this person also be known as XYZ Singh Sekhon. So when he got his visa, "Sekhon" was already attached as a last name. I think ND knows already that Indians rarely use their family name so once the correction is made on the passport, they automatically include it then.

I need wife's visa..no matter what name is printed as long as it is spelled correctly !!! :) :)

@ Kuku

that's right ;)

There are some people who have sent their passports from oct/nov and still haven't heard anything, humara to request hi december 1st week mein kiya tha..i guess another month or so maybe :(

@maple

yes that's right ..But what I figured out is most of them have some factor in their application ( i.e. foreign travel) which is delaying the case. I believe it should not take more than a month from now in our case.. but again it is "the" best ND office.. ;) ;)

aapke mooh mein ghee shakar! LOL

you again forgot to read my last sentence I believe !!! :) :)

I agree with ya !! It is a security clearance that employers usually do.

@ garudha

It is said that in most cases "common law partner' applications are subject to interview as offices will never be satisfied with evidences you enclose with your application. They would always like to meet an applicant and make things clear for them.

Maybe here in Delhi that's the case, but I know of 5 people who've gone through common-law (from Mexico, USA, Europe) who didn't get interviews, and submitted similar (or less) proof as we have. Oh well, at least we know what's going on now, and with any luck, we may get a visa quickly after interview...

What u quoted is what I said and regarding PR card that's from two real life examples. you think i'm wrong more power to you, I just shared facts with people on here who have been very helpful. feel free to share ur experience when u get ur PR card. Like I said this name thing is not a big issue and there is nothing to worry about.

I choose not to read the last line..always remember, I'm an Optimist!

@ singhson

i understand that but i am sharing what that link says. it says that if there is no first name then they will leave it blank and will print only last name on the pr card which is the given name.

can u quote me the examples on the PR card that you have seen real life because i also do not have surname and have sent my pr card to be replaced?

the name on my pr card was printed as "xyz singh, xyz" however my landing document only says my last name as "xyz singh"

thats why according to that manual i sent my pr card for replacement to just print "xyz singh"

Hello All,

My timeline so far is as follows:

App sent to CPC-M : 22nd Sept 2011
Sponsorship Approved : 2nd Dec 2011

I am the applicant. My ecas still shows only "Application Received". When does it go to "in Process" or "Decision Made"? Also is there a way we can confirm as to when our app reached CHC ND?
