At this point in, if any of the MI-1 applicants put a CSQ, they all r reverted with the same mail within 15-20 days or some even arent getting reverts. Its definitely an infinite wait :(

Can anyone clarify in simple English (no short forms please) what Cindrella's letter is actually saying? If 425,000 applications were received and 144,000 are awaiting a decision, that's just 33% and 281,000 must have been processed. Who has yet to make a decision? The Visa Office does not make a decision except for medicals or incorrect information, Nova Scotia does. If the files have been sent to New Delhi then a decision has already been made so are these 144,000 files still in Canada, or what decision are they awaiting, about what and by whom?

Hi,

Be gentle I'm a newbie, however I think I may be onto something.

The letter that Cindrella got is a standard response that everyone gets if they question their file. No one actually looks at the file which is why it says "Dear sir or madam." It's an auto-response.

What the letter does do is explain the status of the 1111 and 0111 submissions in general and total terms from the beginning. It is talking about the full process, not just post Nova Scotia. So if 144,000 files have yet to be decided, then they are still in Canada. It may well be that many of these people will have to wait 2 or more years to get through, but 281,000 decisions have been made and those file have now been given to New Delhi with instructions to process them.

It is unfortunate that the visa office cannot or will not take the time to review an individual case and give some concrete information, but this is how I see their response. It's really only negative if you are one of the 144,000 still undecided, and clearly if you are here that's not the case.

dear all

im quoting from the post of meetsmeet above (the reply by NDVO for his CSQ)-

" *During this time, the department received applications for more than 425,000 people, and 144,000 of these have not yet received a decision.
*This number represents more than twice the number of projected admissions under the federal skilled worker program in 2011, so many of these applicants will have to wait two years or more to be processed"

which office received this no. of apps.? Nova Scotia or NDVO?
i guess the NS.
as the NDVO can not receive Preliminary application at all.

Impt. fact---->>>we all here are basically the cases who's FILE was Transfered from NS to NDVO.

as NS is the Clearing & Tapping authority on receiving More (or less) than Sufficient Applications (by this, I mean the Limit set for the no. of Immigrants) in a particular period,
the Full App. Packages (like we sent to NDVO) can not go BEYOND
the Sufficient or Set Limit (made by the Immi. Canada only).

How come they received and Okayed more than necessary applications at Nova Scotia????

so that they can get into a situation where they themself has to STATE their is a huge Backlog,

and would start increasing the ACTUAL Processing Period, as mentioned by them on the 2nd AOR they write?

I am sure Immi. Canada won't do "aa bail, mujhe maar"!!!

and if they have Factually received Over applications ( @ NS), then they themselves are to be blamed.

Bottom line is--------
Why they Cleared more app. at NS office and also requested Full App. Package by Transfering Files to NDVO (or other local VO all over the world)

other ques. coming to my mind-----Did they need more money (which we send @ NS), did they want to involve and block more and more applicants for their country, so that they can t shift to another country?

Hence, what i can analyse is, NDVO's aforesaid reason is again a hogwash.

another ques. -
when they are stating via CSQ replies that it will take 2 yrs approx, why their website is stating 14 months for 80% cases.

suggestions are welcome friends.

it'll be better if we do not criticize each others' Analysis....rather help each other to make out a genuine picture.

↲Mogboy i totally agree to ur analysis. Pls read the above, posted few days back. Amit & Cindrella got ditto responses. I Strongly believe such responses r Misleading. Perhaps they want withdrawals. God knows more.

Anil-India,

Nova Scotia could well have received 2 billion applications, it's really not the issue. They supposedly process them on a FIFO basis and ship likely candidates to New Delhi. If the application passes Nova Scotia it's on it's way to a visa subject to obvious verifications.

It troubles me how much distrust there is of the Canadian civil service and government. They want immigrants and they want the process to go as smoothly as they can make it despite staff shortages, a huge demand or whatever. That they would plot to get extra applicants for the money is nonsense. This is a rich country and we certainly don't play such minor games.

It is unfortunate that they are sending this form letter which describes the overall process without any regard to a specific file.

I would still be optimistic, but I can say that I live here.

People,

I worked as a civil servant in Canada for 29 years. I believe I was always honest as were my colleagues. We had many checks and balances like Internal Auditors and of course there is the Audit General's office independent of the government that monitors and checks procedures, wasteful spending etc., and reports to parliament. I have never seen political interference or schemes of any kind.

I hate to be brutally honest, but one of the biggest hurdles that India faces as it develops into a superpower is corruption. You pay bribes everywhere and simply assume that officials are corrupt. Major corporations are reluctant to venture into such an atmosphere.

Please don't bring those assumptions here, they have no validity whatsoever.

besides better Lifestyle, honesty , transparency are part of the main causes we Indians wish to try new Habitats. We learn it oftentimes about such pluses and highly Appreciate them. Only ques is why is the delay when Nova Scotia cleared our application?! Why they informing about 2 yrs Processing time NOW? Undoubtedly They knew all the facts and figures about their economy s essentials and Requirements. Mogboy can you kindly respond to my post which was in response to ur yesterday s post having Mr Kenny s email? Thanks.

Anil-India,

I don't think there really is any confusion. We are talking apples and oranges. The standard auto response gives the total processing time from start to finish as 2 or more years, but the government website gives the processing time at Delhi as 14 months.

Frankly I probably know less about this stuff than most of you, I'm just saying how I read their letters.

In Canada there is a thing called the "Freedom of Information Act." It is sometimes used by the press to get embarrassing information. I doubt that someone from India could use it and I would be found to have no vested interest in the topic. If you want more information about it just Google it. I don't know anyone who has ever used it.

The lack of specific responses to queries is simply due to the huge backlog and unprecedented demand. They don't have the time and resources to answer individual questions. That's my take on it. It's not sinister, just frustrating.

the thing is when Nova scotia is the authority to analyse, approve and tap the incoming visa applications, why they r in this state of Backlog now? ↲If applicants need Canada , likewise Canada also needs Immigrants. Its a win-win situation for both parties.

Anil-India,

Simple. An incredible volume of applicants. Each one has to be carefully vetted. I'm amazed they do as well as they do.

Dear Frnds

my only point is, why NS approves applicants, then Transfers the Files to Local visa offices Beyond their handling capacity

wish NS didnt do that, so many applicants wud hv been 'more relieved'.

pls correct me if im wrong.
