you have to show it to them , they will put cancelled stamp over it and will give you back on the spot.

since his PP is fit for travel

and there was an Issue CHC would have sent it back any way like they have been doing with many applicants

renew it i got my pp in three days flat under tatkal scheme. visa won't be affected.
