Hi all,

I am a Chartered accountant with experience of around 5 years in a 'Big 4' audit firm applied through FSW under NOC 1111. I am planning to immigrate to Toronto in Canada.

What are the chances that i would a good job in Toronto.

Also please advise me as to what would be a 'good salary' for a family for three to live in Toronto.

Regrads

These are national salary averages for chartered accountants. People in Toronto would probably be near the top of the scale since the city is expensive.

Base salary $39,715 - $99,308

Bonus $977 - $15,285

Profit sharing $1198 - $25,000

TOTAL SALARY: $40,232 - $106,830

It's considered a very good job.

1111 and 0111 are no longer on the list

you cannot apply under these noc's

Hi,
@DBC I think he has already applied ::) under NOC 1111 for FSW.

@malladikarthik Can u share ur timelines of application pl.? It seems that all of us pre-June 2010 applications still have some waiting to do. Also pl. note that to get a job in ur profession in Canada wud take some time (maybe 2-3 yrs) and accreditations as it is a regulated occupation there.

Rgds,

Thanks for correcting me,Yes he has ;D ;D ;D

@Mogboy: Thanks a lot for sharing the information...

@dbag: I had sent my application in June 2010. Got 1st communication from CIC in October 2010 to send supporting documents to local visa office. Sent all supporting documents to local visa office in January 2011. Received communication from local visa office in January 2011 that they would further processed within 10 months. The said time frame have got completed as of today exactly. Can some one advise me as to should i write any remainders to them?

I thought immigration processing timings are comparatively lower as compared to Australian immigration. The advertisements from all immigration consultants say that you can get PR in a year's time. But this is not et all true in reality...If you reduce my wait period of three months to send my supporting documents to local visa office....it has all together taken is 15 months as of now...

I also read articles that Canada requires more skilled workers to strengthen their economy....but the intake does not replicate that sense of urgency...

Hi Karthik,

I am also a Chartered Accountant and my timelines are on the left. You can see that I am about to complete 16 months from the date of document submission, and till today I haven't received any further communication from NDVO. Current processing time for NDVO for Pre-june applicants is 16 months from the date of document submission. As you have submitted your application in Jan-11, you have to wait for atleast 8-10 months more for getting any further update. That's what I think. If you get it earlier, then it is a bonus for you.

As a CA to succeed in Canadian job market, you need to get CGA or CICA certification. After completion of any one of them, there is a good chance that you get good job in your field.

Wish you best luck in further process.

@ malladikarthik,
Unfortunately the timelines as promised in 2nd AOR by CHC ND have not been maintained for most (if not all) pre-June applicants ::). The problem as also discussed in various threads is that too many applicants applied in the first half of 2010 (pre-26 June) which resulted in a huge backlog (approx. 136000 total as on date) in most VOs.
From 26 June '10, total no. of visas were reduced to 20000 per year, NOC-wise CAPs were introduced and our 1111 NOC was removed from 29 occupations NOC list. About a year later, further reduction (10000 per year and 500 per NOC) was done by CIC and now if anyone falls in post-June 26, 2010 category, he can expect visa much faster than us. These 29 NOCs are what 'The advertisements from all immigration consultants say that you can get PR in a year's time.' are referring.
Since we are no longer in the preferred list, we have to wait for some more time (which is really frustrating & un-professional on the part of CHC >:() and as per my guess on ur timelines, u should get visa stamped by 2nd half of 2012 (anything earlier is a bonus).
