Luck is not in your hands,
But work is in your hand
Your work can make LUCK
But luck can’t make your work
So always TRUST on yourself

Canada: How to apply for Federal Internship program.

The Federal Internship for Newcomers (PFSNA) provides newcomers with a Canadian work experience and temporary help and training opportunities in federal government departments.

Job hunt in Canada is quite dissimilar to what most of us do in our home countries. A new applicant could probably have gone in to several problems when coming to Canada.

Education and work experience an applicant has gained in another country may not meet the criterions for the occupations and skills in Canada. An applicant should know how his or hers permits associates to those of a person trained in Canada for a similar job and know the steps they must take to be allowed to work in Canada.

Canada has two official languages: English and French. Even if you have the language skills in English or French to immigrate to Canada, they may not be sufficient to work in the profession you have chosen.

Language skills in English or French are essential to your integration into the labor market in Canada. The lack of these skills is one of the biggest obstacles to full integration.

Canadian employers, who often do not know how to evaluate education and professional experience gained in other countries, may require or prefer that you have work experience in Canada. The acquisition of this experience is one of the biggest challenges facing newcomers.

Meet people, get advice, network and volunteering are good ways to meet this challenge, but getting your first job in Canada could still take time. Usually Interns are hired as' casual employees for a period of 90 working days. The internship may be extended by 90 days.

Internships are offered in various fields, including politics, administration, project management, information technology, communications and science. A mentor will be assigned to intern for the internship.

Spontaneous workers are staffs hired for a specified period not exceeding 90 working days per calendar year in a division or organization for which the Public Service Commission (PSC) has exclusive authority to make appointments. The period of impermanent service can be one or more periods, but must not exceed 90 working days in a department or agency per calendar year.

To qualify, you must be a permanent resident or Canadian citizen. You may be in Canada for less than 10 years. In certain cases the applicant should possess the necessary language skills in English or French (level of 6 to 8 of the Canadian Language Benchmark or Canadian Language Benchmarks minimum).

Also the applicant should have a postsecondary diploma (with the exception of administrative positions where this type of degree is an asset) and live or works in Ottawa / Gatineau (or within 125 km), Toronto (or within 125 km) in the Vancouver or Victoria (or within 75 km) - noted other areas could be added in the future.

The applicant could also be registered and pass mandatory screening for pre-employment within one of the organizations that assist immigrants detained by the program.

In case of eligibility to IFH, applicant must contact one of Canada’s organizations serving immigrants partners to be a verification of the employment preparation. Verification is a must, and they will contact the agency serving immigrants to ensure that you have had the audit.

The audit procedure is based on a face to face meeting and evaluation, your English language speaking skills, your referrals were fine and how to write your resume and behave in an interview. Notably applicant is subjected to smear application only in the field of his or her interest and not in more than one. In that application the applicant must write paragraph on the need of internship.

A statement in a form of paragraph showing your belief that you are capable to meet the necessary requirement for the criteria for both educational and experience vise consideration. And in the end the name and contact details of the immigrant-who made your audit.

You can check the status of your application at any time via the website emplois.gc.ca by logging.

Applicant’s request will be sent to CIC and / or other federal departments, agencies and Crown corporations that recruit and where there are potential employment opportunities.

There is no guarantee of placement in a particular department. Qualified candidates will be matched with specific jobs in the ministries according to departmental needs and skills of the candidate.

The number of applications received is much greater than the number of internships available. Even if an applicant is in a pool, it may be that he or she does not see internship offerings.
