Hi i m from India applied in Thompson river university for post baccaluarate in marketing programmme. well I put in my application through one of the agents here at university way back in march 10/2018 aiming for fall intake but unfortunately couldn't hear them.Now current picture is they have deffered my application for following which is winter that's what my agent says.moreover, agent sent my deferment form as well to them when university asked them. it's been more than 3 months since I filed but still no response. I m worried in this case as I m running out of time. what needs to be done. ideally tru takes not more than a month to offer anyone a place and my agent said lets wait till July end as this year they are experiencing large influx of applications.

university also stated the same. please lemme know if anyone out there is in the same situation and require expert advises on this.

I would contact the university directly without letting your agent know. TRU usually accepts most students and most are international students so I find it strange that you have not heard from them. I would be more concerned about your agent.

it is strange though I tried to get the details out of my application by reaching university admin in personal couple of times but they said ask your agent for updates.however, once they asked me my student application number but unfortunately couldn't produce that point of time. Agent is saying they have good relations with the university since beginning but I m still waiting don't know what to do exactly.

My impression is that agents are compensated for bringing students to certain universities and colleges in Canada because universities like TRU are not well known in Canada. I would be persistent and contact the university again stating your approximate application time, course, etc. I would also add that you are starting to look at other universities because you have been waiting 3 months for any correspondence from the university. That will hopefully get you some info.

Email is fine. If you want wait that is fine as well. I se no reason why they wouldn't have admitted you for the fall. You applied very early. Just be aware there is likely I financial arrangement between the school and the agent. I assume they may have suggested the school. Having attended a Canadian university and worked with universities in each province I had never herd of TRU until I started participating in this forum.

Yeah but most of the times they don't revert on mails as I had tried already thrice. By any chance do you know any other good universities options for post baccalaureate in marketing management available for January intake.

There are plenty. I am more familiar with he university business school masters and MBA programs but I think you are looking more at post graduate diplomas. I know in Ontario Seneca, George Brown, Humber, Centennial are all considered very good. BCIT would probably offer a better program in BC. My concern with TRU is that it isn't well known with Canadian employers and the majority of students are international students. If your goal is to immigrate to Canada it would be best to mix/work with Canadian students and get similar skills. I also don't know your background so these a general comments.

Just call them and explain your situation , im sure it will pay out.
Btw dont worry you still have plenty of time to get your visa for september i would say 1 month if youre indian

Perhaps, I m expecting it for winter offer till July end I don't know other people last year for tru had received their offers on scheduled dates with this agent but it's just happening now with me nd even one student applied in January 2018 by this agent for summer or fall he got that in Feb afterwards I had put in march nd later to this with this agent couldn't fetch till now...

i have just completed my 10+2 in nonmed with 61% marks in 2018. ihave also done my ielts and i have overall 6 bands but in two module i ahve 5. speaking=7, listening=6 , reading and writing=5.. can anybody tell me that i elgible for thompson river university eith ESl program.

I just got my LOA last week from Seneca college
so its not too late
