In November, after my exclusion order expires (and after we receive sponsorship approval), we'll be doing the "visiting while PR is in process" thing (husband will come down and drive back with us through the border, ask if we can visit, etc). I'll be putting everything in storage and with my sister, and changing my residential address to my sister's (same town I live in). My mailing address will change to my husband's in Canada. I will be paying a month's rent in advance (just in case we're turned around) but after that, I'm giving up my house and my sister's will become my permanent residence.
Two questions:
Does the border need to see anything from her stating any of this? Assuming they even ask, I've seen posts from others where all they care about is seeing the PR is in process and the couple is let through no problem.
How do I update both the mailing and residential addresses with Buffalo? I've heard many times that people have sent in their new address but CIC never confirms it and they refuse to use the new address.
