We had a great experience with immigration in Calgary. Initially, the officer at customs was a little short and scolded us for not having filed our immigration papers yet. She even told us that we needed to get them filed or they wouldn't let me into the country, EEK! They shuffled us off to immigration (thank goodness my husband was with me) and the officer in the immigration office was a star! She was so helpful, and when she asked why I was only staying 6 months I said that I didn't think I could stay longer. She asked if we were filing our papers soon (they will be by the end of the week) and she immediately said "Oh, well I can give you 12 months... I believe you guys." We were soooooooo happy.

So, I have 12 months, our papers will be filed by the end of this week... Our FBI request only took 6 weeks. Yes, I said SIX.

Now I only wonder where I indicate my visa info on my application.

That's great to hear!! I hope my husband gets the same officer when we flies into Calgary =)

Had great experience with Calgary too, super friendly fast and helpful

We were very pleased with Calgary immigration in January. My husband was returning from Australia, (the last time he went through Calgary Immigration the officer was terrible to him and my husband was worried they wouldn't let him in) so I flew to LA this time so I could enter with him. (If they were going to turn him away they would have to pry my fingers off his ankles first. :)) This time the officer couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. He gave us information that we had never heard before and it was really just a great experience. Kudos to Calgary!
