I am curious whether the computer is smart enough to understand what I say during the test. I notice that points are taken off for going off topic, but how can a computer possibly know whether I am off topic or not.

Also would accent be a disadvantage in the speaking test?

It's not a computer that grades your speaking ability. Whatever you say is recorded, and later analyzed by a person.

What a unique question?

Exactly. Your answers will be recorded and assessed by CELPIP employees, NOT a computer.

Funny :D

And yes you could build that kind of system that could check if you are talking upon a certain topic....

But dont think immigration would want to spend millions of dollars and atleast 5 years of database to do that ;)
