Dear friends,

Finally, the time has come for me to take a flight from India tonight and land in Toronto tomorrow, my dream destination of the last four years.

I was working for a bank (14 months) in New Delhi when in March 2008, I came to know of category-3 of MI-1 (a person with one year of previous experience and who had spent 1 year in Canada as an international student or temporary workers was eligible to apply for PR). I applied and pursued one year PG in Marketing Management plus one year PG work permit. This category was removed in June 2010 under MI-2. Immediately after completing one year of education and a few months of work experience, I applied for PR in December 2009 and got my PR visa last month on 5 March 2012. I returned to India in June 2010 on expiry of PG work permit. Now, I can see my planning and dream being realized.

I am 26 year old and moving to Canada with positive mind and no inhibitions. I have already spent two years there and have an idea as to what to expect.

I have got following forms printed and filled-up to complete my landing process and thereafter.

PR card - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5444E.pdf

SIN card - http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eforms/forms/nas-2120-(01-12)e.pdf

Landing Funds - http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/e677.pdf

List of good - http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/b4-eng.pdf two sets

Disembarkation card - http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/e311-eng.pdf

OHIP card - http://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca/mbs/ssb/forms/ssbforms.nsf/GetFileAttach/014-0265-82~13/$File/0265-82.pdf

Are there any job fairs coming up in Toronto/GTA in the near future?

Best wishes to all those who are still in the race..

Sunny

1) You don't have to print out the disembark card. It will be distributed in the plane;
2) Neither do you need to print out the SIN card application form. Go to any Service Canada office, get the form, fill it out and return;
3) You don't have to print and complete your PR card application again. Just inform the greeting officer the address for your PR card.

Thanks steaky,

Agree with your comments. I have just arrived in Toronto and become a landed immigrant. Entire landing process was very smooth, cordial and friendly. My flight (Air India 187) arrived 30 minutes early. It was a long, tiring non-stop flight. I am staying with a relative for few months. Will go for a mobile connection, SIN and OHIP application after having a power nap.

Best wishes to all..

Thanks MCBoy,

Its a great feeling to return as a PR holder, especially under FSW-3 category which was removed in June 2010, I had almost lost hope at some stage prior to Buffalo trasferring my file to NY.

I have over 4 years of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service experience. My last job (as Key Account Executive - Corporate) was with Jet Airways for 15 months. I also have over one year of Canadian experience (Sales/Customer Service) after completing one year post graduate certificate in Marketing Management from Seneca College. Hope to find a suitable job soon.

With my best wishes to you for expedetious completion of your PR process.

Cheers,,
