The contract!!!

Hi:
I am about to ask my Job ( a University) to provide me with the contract.....
My question is:
Must the contract contains the (start and the end of working with them) or ( the last contract with them)??
Since I started working with them from 2006 until the present,
Must they write from 2006 til now??? or from 09\2009 to 09\2010????????
plz help...

Mine started from the date of the very first contract in 2006 eventhough I have renewed it twice already.

If contract or any regular employment, the dates from start of work till you were or are working must be mentioned. It's a standard format. Like in a contract they can give you date for your contract from XXXX to XXXX date. It will be sufficient.
