@legalfalcon Thanks for the reply.

Alternatively, will sending a one and same person affidavit along with passport post PPR instead of webform be fine in your opinion?
It is not required. Also, it is your application and the one and same person affidavit will have to be signed by the person who is claiming it, i.e. you parents.

You can do that, but it will not be required as what matters is the name in your official identity documents i.e. passport and your birth certificate.

If you have a spouse who is a Canadian citizen or PR, you do not have to submit any documents except proof of PR or citizenship.

When filling the form make sure that you filled in the details correctly and the form should not ask you for this.

Hi @legalfalcon

Do we need to update details of international travel undertaken after submitting the application for permanent residency? My AOR was in January this year (Medicals passed in February and Biometrics completed in March). I travelled out of my country of residence for a few weeks in June. Is it necessary to send a CSE webform to let the authorities know about my recent international travel? Thank you!
No, only if your change your country try of residence you have to update you address. Short travels need not be informed to IRCC.

@legalfalcon you mean filing post ITA information? It is still asking pcc from home country. Should I include letter of explanation?

HI @legalfalcon,
can an approved copr holder travel with non dependent immediate family members (parents) to canada? considering the fact that a copr holder becomes a pr on landing, are his parents exempt from travel restrictions and can they travel with him? it would just be easier, safer and more convenient if they travelled at the same time.
Thank you.
You are not a PR until you land and are admitted into Canada.

Until you are a PR, you cannot claim exemption from travel a your immediate family members are not immediate family members of a PR. Also, you have to request an exemption before you travel and not at the airport.

Hi @legalfalcon : Based on your advice, I contacted the IRCC office through a general webform and below are the details about my enquiry and their response:

My enquiry to IRCC: Dear Sir/Madam, I have received my GCMS notes on 5th May, 2021 in which I observed that the CoR is mentioned as India. From what I understand, CoR is the country of residence while applying for the permanent residence programme and in my case I was residing in Netherlands when I applied for the permanent residence. As a matter of fact, I am still residing in Netherlands and will inform IRCC in case that changes. Can you please have a look at it and in case there is any error, correct it. Please do let me know in case you need any further information.

Response from IRCC:
Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We are pleased to confirm that the information you provided was transferred to the responsible office.

Since your file is located at the Canadian visa office in New Delhi, India, we invite you to contact them too in order to:

  • Report important changes,
  • Provide documents,
  • Add a representative or designated individual on file,
  • Obtain information regarding the status of your application, or
  • Enquire on an outcome of a request.
You will find the complete list of visa offices on our website.

*******************************************************************************

Based on the above response from IRCC, I contacted the NDVO through a webform again since the response from IRCC mentioned me to contact the New Delhi Visa Office since my file is located there. The details of that conversation are below:

My Enquiry to NDVO:
Dear Sir/Madam, I have received my GCMS notes on 5th May, 2021 in which I observed that the CoR is mentioned as India. From what I understand, CoR is the country of residence while applying for the permanent residence programme and in my case I was residing in Netherlands when I applied for the permanent residence. As a matter of fact, I am still residing in Netherlands and will inform IRCC if that changes. Can you please have a look at it and in case there is any error, correct it. I had contacted IRCC with the general webform and they have informed me that they have passed on the message to the Canadian visa office in New Delhi, India since my file is located there as well as suggested me to contact them and hence I have raised this webform. Please do let me know in case you need any further information. Thanking you in advance.

Response from IRCC:

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
If you wish to add or change a physical address currently on file, please submit your request through the IRCC Webform.
Sincerely,
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)//AU

*******************************************************************************

The response from NDVO was not clear since they mention nothing about my enquiry but rather tell me that to change a physical address, I have to raise a webform. I have not changed my physical address since the time I have applied for the PR program so I am not sure why do they think I should change my physical address in case the COR mentioned in the GCMS is incorrect.

I am seeking your advice on the same. Should I raise another webform and get it clarified or should I just sit back and wait for further steps since IRCC has already informed it to the Canadian Visa Office in New Delhi.

Thanking you in advance!

At the end it does not matter.

If you want to get it changed follow this:

Hi @legalfalcon,

Unfortunately it’s now been 4 years and 1 month since AOR and still no PR. I received a request to redo medicals and to resubmit travel history, police certificate, passport copies and schedule A back in Nov 2020. I submitted everything by early Jan and as per the latest GCMS notes it seems everything checked out but yet no movement for a couple of months and still no PR email. Are visa issuances on hold now for Covid? Or could it be something something else? My application is EE-O.

Hello @legalfalcon,

I am a pgwp holder and it's expiring on August 27 2021. I just found out about the new public policy but I was not present in Canada when the public policy took effect. I don't know if this is a place to ask about this but I am really in the dark here and do not know where to ask for help about this.

I am eligible for the most part but this statement confuses me ''You were in Canada as of January 27, 2021, when the public policy took effect, and have stayed in Canada since then.'' https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/students/pgwp-extend.html

My question is am I still eligible to apply for an open work permit under this new public policy if I go back to Canada and apply from there even though I was not in Canada as of January 27, 2021. I am in Thailand at the moment. I would really appreciate any advice and input on this.

I planned to return to Canada last year but the Covid 19 situation was really bad so I have to cancel my plan.

Thank you very much.

If all checks have been done, then COVID would be the reason. As things open up you should receive a PPR.

The question you have to ask is:

Were you in Canada as on January 27, 2021 and have been in Canada since January 27, 2021.

If the answer is no, then you are not eligible for this.
