Hi @legalfalcon
Hope you are doing good.
I have few queries, can you please suggest what to do.
1) my passport is expiring in Jun 2021 and i am feb 2021 AOR, should i renew my passport now and send its scanned copy to IRCC or they will ask for the new passport?
2) Me and my spouse have taken covid vaccine (as we work in govt department) we have vaccination certificate, can i send those certificates to IRCC? ( To accelerate the PR process)
3) my sister and my spouse's brother both are Canadian PR, can i send their PR card to IRCC as we are likely exempted from the travel restrictions (To accelerate the PR process)

Thank you in advance

1. You should renew your passport and send the scan of the renewed passport via webform. IRCC may ask, but they will do it later when a decision is about to be made and may delay the processing. So better you do it now.

2. It will have no impact. You can send it, but Canada has not rolled out any policy to exempt people who have been vaccinated.

3. You will have to request exemption separately for both, you can your spouse, see the guidelines for how to request. This can only be done if you have a Canadian visa or your PR visa has been approved. Alternatively, you can apply for a tourist visa and claim exemption under extended family.

@legalfalcon @caipsnotes i need urgent help. My wife's aowp extension has been rejected and she is out os status, also we have applied for PR me as primary applicant since september 2020.

My question is that for restorarion of status is it better to apply for visitor or tourist visa for temporary status than reapplying for same sowp extensuon? We can apply in 90days window period?

Also should we inform it to IRCC for their knowledge that this sowp visa is rejected or they will know by themselves?
Will it affect our PR application too?

Thanks in adcance, really appreciate your help.

Good day @legalfalcon may I know your recommendation/suggestion re bring CAD10,000? Is the CAD10,000 limit which means one doesn’t have to declare is per family or per person? If I will bring CAD10,000 and my son has with him CAD1,300 because it’s his money, do we declare my son’s funds? Or the no-need-to-declare limit is per person? Also, what if we have around USD500-USD1,000 and another 1,000 in local currency from our country, do we need to declare everything that is over CAD10,000? Again, TIA.

Hello @legalfalcon
I am an outland CEC applicant, AOR May 21,2020.
Just 2 weeks ago I was asked to submit schedule A and travel history and I did complete and submitted it on March 17. However, just now I realized that I left out 2 trips on my travel history from 2013 and 2014. I went to south korea for 11 days and hong kong for 4 days and I completely forgot about these trips until now.
I am updating the form now and will give it to my lawyer, but I just want to know if there is going to be a problem with this?
Thank you

There are no restrictions on the amount of money you can bring into or take out of Canada, nor is it illegal to do so.

However, any time you cross the border, you must declare any currency or monetary instruments you have in your possession that are valued at CAN$10,000 or more. The CAN$10,000 can be any combination of Canadian or foreign currency and monetary instruments, such as stocks, bonds, bank drafts, cheques and traveller's cheques. This requirement applies to you whether you are travelling on business, pleasure or if you are carrying money on behalf of someone else.

When you arrive in Canada with currency or monetary instruments valued at CAN$10,000 or more in your possession, you must report it on Form E311, the CBSA Declaration Card (if one was provided to you), on an Automated Border Clearance kiosk or a Primary Inspection Kiosk, or in the verbal declaration made to a border services officer.

When leaving Canada by air with currency or monetary instruments valued at CAN$10,000 or more in your possession, you must report to the CBSA office within the airport before clearing security. Prior to leaving Canada by land, boat or rail, report to the CBSA office nearest your location.

If you are a NEXUS member and are crossing the border with currency or monetary instruments valued at CAN$10,000 or more, you cannot use NEXUS in the land, air or marine modes of transportation. For more information: NEXUS Terms and Conditions.

Consult Travelling with CAN$10,000 or more.

The limit is per person and includes all currency you are carrying, and not just CAD. After conversion of you have more than CAD 10,000 you have to declare it.

There will be no issues as long as you declare them.

You only have to submit a PCC when you submit your application. If IRCC wants a revised PCC they will ask.

All documents you submit have to be valid as on the day you submit your application. If they subsequently expire, there is no need to be worried.

Dear @legalfalcon ,
I have applied for PR under CEC category on April 2019 and added my spouse (currently she is in India) on July 2019 to my application.
After a long wait, she received her COPR and stamped passport on Jan 2021. But I am still waiting for the COPR from January (primary applicant in Canada).
Because of some family issues, i need to get her to Canada as soon as I can. But i don't know if there is any option available.
1. Can i apply TRV for her under family reunification? i saw some people successfully brought their dependants to Canada. But after she got the COPR, can i apply for TRV?
2. I am on BOWP. Can i apply SOWP for her?
Please provide your input on this matter and help us. Thank you Sir
