please do not speculate, what you got is standard reply. If you would like to know if your have SS or what stage of the application you have cleared, you should get GCMS notes. It i important to know which stage you have cleared. To read on stages an application goes through, see

https://www.getgcms.com/blog/express-entry-application-processed/

To see how the notes look like and what they contain see https://www.getgcms.com/blog/gcms-notes-look-like-order/
Thanks ! How long do they take to arrrive ? Just been in bgc for so long was sure I heard ss

Hi Legal Falcon!!!
I am always grateful for your advice and suggestions you provide to people.....
I have a small query, hope you will help me out..

I received my CoPR yesterday and I validity is until Jan 9th 2018... Day before yesterday I knew that my Wife is pregnant for 1 month... IN the additional paper with CoPR there was some instructional paper stating for first 90 days in Canada I will not be getting Health benefits.. No my query is

1) Since I knew my wife was pregnant 2 days ago, should I inform IRCC about it? If yes how?
2) If I don't inform them now will it effect the health benefits after I move to Canada??

Could you please suggest....

Hi Legalfalcon,

Can my bank account go below the minimum threshold during my application process or is it fixed when I sent them the application?
Further, is the exchange rate for POF counted as the prevailing rate at the time of application submission, or does it fluctuate as per actual?

I am at NA2 now since June 27th. Detailed timeline below:

AOR = 11th May
Meds = 26th June
IP1 = 27th June
NA2 = 27th June

Your application will not be rejected, since the deadline is there. In an eventuality after submitting the document, the placeholder for Singapore PCC is no longer there, you can submit the document by CSE.
Last thing just to be clear, so I better not upload anything in placeholder for Singapore police cert? I am thinking to upload a LOE explaining this along with my other police certificates/placeholders.

BGC do take time, but before that it is important to know if your eligibility is cleared and whether you are actually in SS. If you want to wait it out, that is an option or see for yourself in GCMS. The choice is yours.

You can inform IRCC, but you will not be able to add your baby until it is born. As you need a passport and medicals. You can add a baby right until before you land, even if a CoPR and visa has been issued to you.
To read more on adding a family member see https://www.getgcms.com/blog/add-family-member-express-entry-application/

2) If I don't inform them now will it effect the health benefits after I move to Canada??
If you don't inform them, you can land in Canada without any problems. You can get private health insurance, or you can return back after landing and have the baby in India. However, if the baby is born in India, you will have to sponsor, and if the baby is born in Canada, you need not do anything. Ideal situation would be, that you land in Canada and register of provincial medical card. Most provinces have a 90 day waiting period. For these 90 days, you can get a private insurance, like blue cross blue shield which will cover you.

Could you please suggest....
Heartiest congratulations for the CoPR and the baby!!

Your application is locked the day it is filed and what ever is the prevailing rate that day will count. However, IRCC can ask you for a revised PoF if they so thing necessary. It is always better to update them with a new PoF if the fluctuation takes the levels too low.

You received the same reply! Is it not obvious. If you speculate that this reply means SS, you are free to assume, however, i would rely on facts and the status updates in GCMS, instead of just speculation and assuming that a specific reply means SS and if another it means not SS. Personal choice.

Hi Legalfalcon,

I have a very typical query.

I got married few months back. My wife has only first name (given name) in all her docs, including passport. Thus, I prepared my marriage certificate mentioning her first name only. Moreover, I also included her first name in my passport as spouse’s name and she included mine, using the recently created marriage certificate. Now, using her current passport and all other docs, I can apply for PR visa with only one part of her name, and as per CIC, that won’t be an issue and our PR can be processed easily.

However, recently while scanning through various online forums regarding post landing docs, I came to know that “Health Card” in Canada cannot be processed only with single part of the name (that is both: Given Name and Family Name is required). Also, many applicant, who have this issue, were forced to apply for a name change in Canada before applying for Health card, and subsequently all their immigration document, such as: PR card, SIN, Driving License were changed. I would like to know: if it is possible to proceed with only Given Name in Canada and get all the benefits of a permanent resident or that would cause any issue as described above.

Please note: I have just received ITA and I am in the process of document collection. Since, I have yet not applied, in case my wife’s name is going to cause issues in future, I can modify her name in her passport and add my family name as her family name . But, again as her name in marriage certificate and rest of the docs would remain as her maiden name, I want to double check, if this change would lead to any future confusion in Canada or not.

Please suggest the best possible solution to this matter. I would like to avoid any future confusion. Thus, seeking your help in this matter.

Waiting for an early response from your end.

Thanks,
PKS

Hi @legalfalcon

Can inland applicants travel out of Canada with their COPR and then re-enter via the airport to have their permanent resident visa processed? Or is it mandatory that you do it at one of the immigration offices or at the border?

Thanks
