Hi @legalfalcon needing help.
I am on an employer-specific work permit which is expiring in May 2022.
I already applied for PR in September 2020 waiting for decision made. I applied through SINP with restrictions on employer.
However, there was an issue with my employer who wants to terminate my employment.
What will happen to me? Can I find another employer? If so, what will be the effect on my PR application?

Hello Legend @legalfalcon hope you are doing well.

I got a ADR request letter and at the bottom I could find an agent ID which is CD27283.

I request you to share your thoughts if you have an idea in regards to which VO this agent ID relates to ? Any inputs on this would be appreciated

How do you know that your travel document no is incorrect? Have you received your COPR/Visa
I did not receive the letter but I can see the document status regarding travel document and validity in gc account.

You will have to check the rules of the PNP program you applied under. Some allow, others do not.

YEs, you can put the file number as the document number and the expiry date can be one year from the date of issue.

It makes no difference which VO or who the officer is. IRCC does not disclose such info,

Hi @legalfalcon
First of all, thank you for creating such a tight-knit community!
If you don't mind, could you please help me with my dilemma?
Summary of my case:
  • FSW - Outland. AOR - 12th December 2020. Recently I got and completed the re-medical request on 21st March 2022.
  • I received an offer for the UBC Master of Data Science program with a program start date of 31st August.
Queries:
  1. Do you think it is wise to wait for PR? Is it useful to raise a web form attaching the offer letter and requesting IRCC to expedite my case? Or should I apply for a student visa?
  2. Is there an increased risk of visa refusal since I already have an active PR application? I've read that even if dual intent is a legit circumstance, it is extremely rare to get an approval. Is this true? Should I decline my opportunity at UBC?
  3. Can you please advise on the key aspects I should include in my statement of purpose that will help me convince the visa officer that I intend to exit Canada once my student visa expires?

Hi @legalfalcon,

During my PR application, I had given my eye color as 'BLACK'. Now after multiple google searches, I have realized that black is extremely rare and it is normally dark brown. I got my Ready for Visa letter asking for my height and eye color. If I mention my eye color as dark brown, Would it negatively impact my application. Should I leave it as black?

I'd really appreciate if you could advise on what I should put.

Thank you in advance.

Hello @legalfalcon

I received my ready for visa email recently, and I am presently in Canada on a TRV, away from my home country. The mail requests me to send the passport to the High Commission or to send it to Ottawa via xpresspost. After i send it to Ottawa, can i receive my CoPR without having to pass through a port of entry? what is the process like

Thank you!

If you are in Canada, have you changed your address on file to a Canadian address? Individuals who are in Canada are issued an e-COPR and they do not have to undergo any landing formalities.

Enter the eye colour that you have, which would be dark brown or brown. It has no impact.

As per IRCC, the Express Entry Applicant must have the funds in the form of available and transferable funds “unencumbered” by debts or other obligations equal to 50% of the minimum necessary funds. I have observed few refusal letters as the visa assessment officer was not satisfied with a “gift deed” as the amount received amounted to more than 50% of the minimum necessary funds for Express Entry.

So should the gift deed not make up more than 50% of your bank balance?
