@legalfalcon

Thanks for all your advice.

I am on a study permit here in Canada and J am not through with my studies yet, and I have applied for PR, AOR July 26th, Can I apply for an Open Work Permit? Am I eligible?
No, you are not eligible for OWP. You become eligible only either though a job offer, post completion of your studies, or any other way. Just because you applied for a PR, you are not entitled.

Hi @legalfalcon, i have submitted my application in Oct 18. However, i have one doubt. I had an minor error in my surname and hence i got my passport changed (India) and my old passport was cancelled. While creating the EE profile, i have submitted details of both my passports and while attaching i have scanned and uploaded both my passports as i had visa stamps and travelled on both passports.

My query is - will there be any issue, since i have added details of my old passport which is not active??
No need to be concerned. Your current and valid passport is what matters. However, it would have been better if you could have explained it in LoE as it would have made it easier for someone who may wonder why there is a change. Also, in the application there is a specific questions which asks have you been known by any other name, and you should have answered yes.

You can raise a CSE and explain it now, but this will not be a reason for rejection.

Damnnnn son of a gun!!! I'm assuming I got cleared of that because after that I was requested Sch A and then my SS started.

Quite bizarre though as I've visited Canada before and never had any issues entering or leaving the country. Or any other 27 countries that I've travelled as a matter of fact .
The schedule A is asked when there is a discrepancy in your travel history or there is something missing. Also, the scrutiny is greater when you file your PR application, since as soon as you become a PR, you will be entitled to a lot of jobs that need a security clearance, and also your travel to US will be easy.

This is why you have the info sharing.

Hi @legalfalcon, thank you for your advice! I have ordered my gcms note 10 days ago, Today I got to know that I have review required in eligibility review, I guess it is because my Quebec residency. I would like to ask you can I wait unitl my contract ends and then move to ontario (march 2019) OR I need to move immediately? I have some family issues so it is really difficult for me to move now. Meantime, I provided an ontario lease as a proof for my intertion, could you give me some suggections. Thank you very much.
Its a holistic view which is taken by the officers. As long as your intention to reside outside QC is clear and evident, there is no issue.

Since I am not privy to your documents, I can't say much.

Hello,
I got my gcms reports.
There is one point:
Counterfoil required : Yes
It is written in my and my spouse report.
What does it mean?
This is when the COPR will be issued, it will be 2 copies of each (counterfoil).

Very standard, no need to be concerned.

Hi @legalfalcon What is really checked during background check? Do they check only criminality and security or do they verified all the documents submitted again (work experience, funds, police reports, etc) ? Is it possible that an application is rejected at bg check after being told by an agent that the eligibility is met?

If you still have questions, ask.

Hi @legalfalcon
I want to apply for express entry. My only problem is I live in USA and was granted asylum back in 2012. In 2018 the USCIS terminated my asylum citing fraud. I have a immigration court date in April 2019 then another immigration court date that is to be determined. My FBI record is clean as of today. Do you think I have a chance in getting PR through express entry?
I am not privy to your documents, so can't say much. As long as you are hones in your PR application, I don't see a reason why you should not be eligible.

Many thanks @legalfalcon - I had put a yes to the question, also i have attached affidavit along with explanation in the LOE. Just that, i mentioned both passports (cancelled as well as latest) in the ID documents.

Hi folks,

I have received a letter from London VO asking me to submit the following:

1) Height & eye colour: Height and eye colour details. This must be received at this office by:
2) Client Information: copy of your passport bio page. This must be received at this office by:

Please upload these documents to your MyCIC account only. Please do not submit physical documents via mail. Please note: All documents must be accompanied by English or French translations. When original documents are requested, notarised documents are not acceptable.

The above information/documents must be received in your MyCIC account by the date stated above. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application

For query 2 I shall upload the passport bio page scan. However, I am a bit confused about query 1. Do they need a specific document like a medical certificate for this ? Can you guys please guide what exactly to submit to CIC to ensure a satisfactory outcome ?

P.S: I searched this thread but couldn't gather clearly what specific document needs to be submitted for the query.

Looking forward to your valued guidance @legalfalcon

Regards

Thank you for answering so many questions ;)
Regarding PPC, it is not clear as to how IRCC defines “visited” and “lived”. I obtained ppc from the embassy of my birth country in 2017. I have dual nationality. Since then I went for a short visit in 2018. Some say that that visit cancelled my ppc, others claim that it didn’t.
Requesting a new ppc is a bit complicated in my situation since the embassy only accepts in person requests and is 4h drive away, +2 weeks of waiting then making another trip to collect the document. I’m 8m pregnant and I’d like to avoid unnecessary trips. Thanks in advance!

According to report

Medical : PASSED
INFO SHARING : COMPLETED

But while reading report, under employment history section,
Status is rejected which was updated on 1st august 2018

And on 2nd august file has been transferred to CPC ottawa.

This whole scenario is very complex for me.

Hi @legalfalcon, I'm in pursuance to get Italian PCC, should it need to be attested, or legalized? Appostille? Notarized? As if required, it takes extra time n money. As well read on forum canada is excluded from haugue convention something like that....also i will submit certified translation of this certificate. Considering the fact that it would be issued from Tribunale (court) and i will upload color scanned copy of it.
